A bit of a haul to get there but, if you live in Oxford and want a break in the Highlands in a late-Victorian hotel, then make the most of the journey through the Trossachs and the snow-topped mountains to the remote hotel location - obviously not that remote, there were plenty of others who had also made the trek.... The scenery, the weather and the staff were fabulous but the property wasn't quite up to standard. There wasn't any heating in our room, so despite it being glorious weather, our room was very cold in March. Despite there being a small heater in the dining area, all guests wanted to sit by it and it didn't make much difference,... More

We stayed here for 3 nights having purchased tickets as a show in East Anglia, As the title says, the staff are friendly, and very helpful, the location is as superb as the brochure states, and the food although basic was very good. The hotel on the other hand is tired and showing signs of age! We had no hot... More

Bought offer at Shrewsbury Show along with friends and on advice went for April booking. The staff have all been very friendly and helpful so that we had a relaxing time. The food was great and we ate in the conservatory which had a super view across the Loch. We had opted for a chatel which was roomy and the... More

We stayed here at Easter as part of a deal purchased at the NEC Christmas Fayre in November 2013 and were surprised and slightly concerned when they rang to tell us our voucher was about to expire but that they had a vacancy over Easter ... On the first night, after a marathon 9 hour journey, we thought our fears... More

We bought 3 nights B&B for us and the 2 children for £260 at the Southport Flower Show. We didn't know what to expect, but were very pleased by what we ended up with! We booked into the self catering wooden chalets just off of the hotel (200m away), whilst the outside was a bit battered due to last years... More

We stayed here for 3 days in early April 2015. The hotel has plenty of plus points, loch side situation, very quiet, plenty of parking. Helpful staff - mostly Eastern European so not what you'd expect in a traditional Scottish hotel. Our criticism was that everything was to do with penny pinching. Times of austerity indeed. We ate in the... More

We stayed for three nights together with four others. As we had our dog we stayed in one of the lodges. The staff in the hotel couldn't do enough for us and the food was excellent. The lodge was clean, comfortable and has all amenities required for a comfortable stay. Fresh bottled water was supplied daily. Waiters Sebby, Gabriel and... More

My wife and I booked their '3 nights for price of 2' offer during a visit to the Three Counties Show, Malvern. After an initial problem when contacting the hotel to arrange the dates (they couldn't find our booking confirmation!) we subsequently 'upgraded' the offer to include a 'loch view' room. However, having then read some of the extremely negative... More

We had a four night stay in Dalmally and this hotel was located in a special spot, with access to various locations quite easily. We were able to go to Oban very easily, drive around the beautiful scenery and mountains, We changed our rooms quite easily to a loch view, and this was a stunning way to wake up each... More
