This is a great place for a quiet relaxing holiday. We stayed for 2 weeks in October. We have been to many places and we can honestly say that nowhere have we encountered such wonderful service. The staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. The rooms are not too good and could do with updating but they... More

We travel a lot and thought Hotel del Amirante was very good value for money. We arrived at 10 a.m. in the morning and were allowed to check immediately, and the day we were leaving our flight left at 6.30 p.m. and we were allowed to keep the room until 5 p.m. (with no extra charge). That is what we... More

You love all that they are, but you wish they would spend some time on improving their health. I spent two nights at the del Almirante as part of a solo "immortal memory" tour seeking out famous locations from the time of Nelson and Patrick O'Brian's fictional Aubrey-Maturin characters. The 200+ year-old Collingwood House was, for a brief time, the... More

:Like so many of Collingwood House guests, a return visit to enjoy the peace and quiet and friendliness of this small hotel. Staff, as ever, attentive and friendly. Hotel spotlessly clean and comfortable, with lots of space to relax in - indoors, around the pool, on the terraces. A very special hideaway. Breakfasts and bar snacks as good as ever... More

Lovely hotel - like a Georgian museum with charming, attentive staff who have been there for many years. Comfortable rooms, amazing semi-rural views over Mahon port ( 4 kms long) and very well located for access to Mahon town, beaches and good restaurants @ Es Castell and the airport . Very relaxing, hassle free place.

Just returned from an excellent week B And B at this lovely old colonial style hotel, lovingly and proudly run by the owner and his family for the last 50 years. He still gives a free weekly historical talk every week. The hotel is no good for young couples who want discos and kids who want lively. The hotel is... More

Location only 15 minutes transfer, great welcome and soon installed in our lovely room in a beautiful garden by the pool. Breakfast good and plenty of it, bar meals and evening meals good, staff were wonderful - nothing was too much trouble, rooms cleaned every day with fresh soft towels and constant hot water. Met lots of nice people who... More

No TV, old fashioned and out of town. All things that normally associate with a poor holiday but in this case it made for a fab time. No TV in the rooms meant that people sat in the public areas or the gardens and socialised and there was no football on in the bar. The hotel itself had a very... More

Went on 5th September for 1 week. I had read previous reviews and was not disappointed. The hotel is small, very friendly and helpfull staff. The type of clientele that come to this hotel was exactly what I hoped would be - repeat customers, older quiet couples. Breakfast was good. Bar meals were very good. The only negative- and I... This hotel is not your typical med hotel but is very atmospheric of Admiral Collingwood's era. Basic but extremely clean rooms. We had room in the annexe buildings with no fan but to be honest it wasn't needed as the room was in the shade all day. A plus in my opinion. The pool and sun terrace was lovely with... More
