Personally this could have received a 5 star review as during our trip it provided a perfect restbite from a hot inland tour. The perfect cooler temperature, that we enjoyed in the large gardens which afforded sea views from the available sun-loungers, may not always be the case. It is not the classic, formal Parador as shown by the restaurant... More

This is a splendid hotel very close to the beach with beautifully maintained public areas and gardens. There is a very nice pool staffed at all times by a lifeguard. We were very impressed when we arrived at check in to find that reception had all our documents pre-printed ready for signature so the check in process was very quick... More

We have stayed overnight here twice before and yes, the hotel needs a facelift in some areas. But these are government run hotels and Spain is still in the depths of recession! This is a seaside hotel set in large, lovely gardens with ample parking. In this area of Spain pools do not open until 1 June and close mid... More

Benicarló is not much to look at, and this Parador follows suit. The rooms are tidy and clean, and the staff are friendly. However on the whole the hotel is tired and needs updating. Would recommend as a short stop over place only.

I appreciate that this is not one of the flagship hotels for the Parador chain. It reminded me of the Parador Malaga Golf, though that was a better atmosphere. The room was comfortable, though as others have said the layout of the hotel means a long walk reception to room. No offer to help with luggage. There is a large... More

Mediocre performance, too expensive with a lack of fantasy. The swimming pool is empty while nobody of the staf behind the desk at in- checking after mentioning it told us that fact. Poor performance! The breakfast buffet is good but without any fantasy, the staf in the breakfastarea is not friendly. Just doing what they have to do but without... More

This is one of the tattier paradors from the outside - low-rise 70s look. Inside there is a spacious lounge area with nice view of gardens and beach. Layout is odd with rooms in a straight line for what seems like miles - long walk from reception to room. The room was okay if so bit small for a 'superior'.... More

We stayed for one night in February 2014. The hotel was pleasant enough. Indifferent reception staff and a long walk to our room but the room was large and the gardens were very attractive. Lunch in the dining room was fine but it all fell apart at dinner. There seemed to be a member of staff missing. One group of... More

The room insulation was apalling, you can hear whatever the neighbours are doing, rarely pleasant. We couldn't sleep. And we had a supposedly Superior Room! Also the corridors smelt of stale food, the whole place is dated, the WiFi only worked occasionally and, although the young lady who booked us in was courteous, one of her colleagues basically pushed her... Good points: It is on the beach front. Has it's on Free car parking. BAD Points: During October to April, there is no access to the beach from the back of the hotel, you have to go via the public route. Also during this time the outdoor pool is closed. Breakfast starts at 8am. This is too late if your... More
