Our stay at Byoona Amagara was very nice. We spent two nights in a Geodome and one night camping (unfortunately all the Geodomes were booked out, so better make a reservation in advance). It was an amazing experience. The staff at the reception was also very nice and the food delecious. One afternoon we went on a guided kanu tour... More

Byoona Amagara is a must for anyone going through Kabale or going to Bwindi for the Gorillas or someone needing a weekend excursion from Kigali. The geodomes are spacious and open air. Our deluxe one came with a huge porch overlooking the lake. I recommend upgrading to a deluxe for the hot water and private bath. The food is reasonably... More

Peaceful, serene environment. Good food at very reasonable prices. We stayed in one of the Deluxe Geodomes called Omuti which is a self contained Geodome with hot shower and I think this one has the best view of the lake. One of our friends stayed at the Wood Cabin which is also another good option if you are couples. The... More

I stayed at Byoona Amagara for 3 nights. I worked very closely Jason, the owner of the lodge, to arrange my stay and it was absolutely perfect. The lodge and staff were gorgeous, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. I stayed in a Geodome Deluxe. The accommodation was perfect for a family of three, and the view was breathtaking. It included access... More

Super. We stayed for two nights in one of the Geodomes. Our stay here was part of an 8-day safari through the Southwest of Uganda. Compared to the other 4 places we stayed this was the most relaxing and enjoyable as a place to stay. Of course, Uganda is a country with much to offer and we enjoyed our entire... More

If you stay here make sure you get one of the geo-domes which are completely open at the front and look out over the lake which make for a unique experience. It can get cold at night though so make sure to pack an extra t-shirt or two. The food was not great to be honest but the location was... More

We arrived with our rental car at the village, as promised safe car parking was provided. Arrived at the island by free canoe ride (50 minutes). Setting is quite nice, with some pretty views across the lake and surrounding hills, we had a deluxe geodome, worth the additional fee. Shower were hot and clean. Food was reasonable priced and of... We stayed in the Family cottage in mid-May, following a challenging day of Gorilla Tracking in Ruhija. It was the perfect place to relax after an exhausting day. This had been booked by our safari tour company and we had no idea what was awaiting us as we boarded the boats. Our accommodations were very comfortable (a double bed, and... More

Our family of 4 (children ages 2 and 4) stayed in the family cottage at the beginning of September 2014. I would call this "luxury camping"; luxury because of the cabin, camping because of the solar powered electricity and hot water. Unfortunately for us, it rained for the majority of our 6 night stay and it was very cool. Consequently,... More
