We stayed for only one night, as we were travelling between Bwindi and Mburo. A very pleasant stay, excellent , excellent food, in beautiful surroundings. great pride and care have gone into creating this lodge, on the edge of the lake, literally. The view from your room is gorgeous, of mountains, lake, boats, and birds. We found it strange though that... More

Spent a couple of days here over Christmas. The landscape is great and so is the hotel's location. The rooms are reasonably sized and furnished with the essential (nothing more, though). Internet is available in the common area only. I have not found the staff to be particularly pleasant or helpful.. By Ugandan standars the place is expensive and, in... More

Nice house which was extremely nice renovated and the location by the lake is awesome. But sadly the service is missing the heart the other lodges we had in Uganda were sending to the guests. The unhappy face and mood of the boss spreads throughout the whole location. Sorry

Dear Guest, Sorry for your unpleasant experience. Strange that most of our reviews are stating the opposite of your comment. The unhappy face of the boss should not reflect to the guests and should not influence the general atmosphere, that is correct. Don't forget the boss is also a human being who might have a bad day. However we think... More

We stayed at Birdnest Resort for 2 nights in November. We loved it. We had just come from gorilla trekking and were happy with a bit of luxury. The room was tasteful and lovely, views were amazing. We had two dinners and lunches here, all the food was excellent and included local, Indian and European dishes. We also had a... More

I stayed here for one night after trekking gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. It was by far the best accommodation I stayed in while traveling in Uganda. The view of the lake was magical. The colours over the lake as the sun rises was simply magical. I had two meals in the restaurant and the crayfish pasta is sublime -... More

The hotel is the first you come to in the village at Bunyoni where most of the resorts and campsites are. It's over a rough road, steep in places which climbs over the hillside- I was in a 4x4 but saw normal cars make the drive. The hotel is a 3 storey stone built building set in nice gardens overlooking... More

I stayed 2 nights at Birdsnest. It was off-season so I was the only guest, and only a few came for a meal. This is obviously not ideal for judging the Hotel. But it was really great. Good ambience, good quality material and furniture and very friendly staff. The outside restaurant area has a really good feel to it, good... More

My husband and I had just spent nearly two weeks trekking round Uganda staying in tents and basic accommodation. We had a marvellous time with little access to running water or electricity. We saw the Gorillas and climbed Mount Sabinyo. However we knew that after such a hectic time we would need a little rest before returning to England. We... More

A wonderful, comfortable and relaxing place in a superb location. Gorgeous rooms, splendid restaurant and terrace, this was quite the place to do no absolutely nothing after two days trekking gorillas. As for the guilt, well having spent two-weeks in this beautiful country, even the least observant visitor might realise the extent of their privileges (then again, we did hear... More

I have been at Birdnest in June 2014. The hotel and the rooms are just perfect. And the swimming pool is all natural with natural water filter. The food is great and the view on the lake is the best you can get. You should definitely book a small boat and go on a boat ride for a few hours.... More
