This is definitely the one place in Cape Town that I make a habit of visiting every time. If you can, do this on a day where the weather is good. The drive from city centre is lovely, and you can stop along the way and take photos of Table Mountain. This trip, we arrived before sunset, and were lucky... More

For years this has been one of the 'must visit' places around Cape Town. Keep your plans flexible and make sure you go there when the weather is perfect. Remember it is a 'watering hole' that also serves food. It is busy and service can be slow...but go there and enjoy the African sun and the company of lots of... More

We had heard so much about the Blue Peter from friends who had frequented the establishment in the past. All I can say is that the service and quality of the food were nothing short of disgusting. The menu has a good selection, but take my word for it, the quality of food is well below par. We drove from... More

We visited the Blue Peter Hotel for lunch during July. The weather was chilly but the Blue Peter was very warm and welcoming! While upstairs looks more formal than downstairs, the menu is the same, so we chose to sit upstairs having a pre-lunch drink right in front of the open fire. Then we went into the dining room and... We had breakfast the first morning with ten guests, and the service was 100%. We also had dinner with four guests and again the service was fantastic. We spent the evening in a beautiful suite - could not have wished for better. The next morning we woke up, had our newspaper delivered and again went down for breakfast - the... More

Stayed for the Friday night dinner dance, rooms are clean and comfortable with stunning views. The dinner dance is great with an awesome set menu, and great food. Retire to your room after a great evening. To have a good nights rest. In the morning a fantastic breakfast buffet awaits. With some thing to cater for everyone's taste.

Wanted to show off the beautiful view from the Blue Peter hotel to an up-country guest so went for breakfast in the restaurant upstairs. The tables in the restaurant are situated alongside the wide view windows which was perfect for what we wanted. The buffet breakfast at R115.00 per head however was disappointing. When we got there just after 9... More

Great food (very varied menu), great service, great views, great value. A definite must visit! We regularly visit the Blue Peter and it never lets us down. Love the setting. Don't go on a Friday/Sunday late afternoon as you will struggle to find a table but there's always the grass to sit on and take in the beautiful sunset whilst... More

It is so sad that a hotel with such a fantastic view has such pathetic service, actually no service. To give you a brief summary of my experience, the staff at the Blue Peter Hotel are not willing to help, and the waitresses that came to our table to tell us that we can fetch our omelettes ourselves. They had... More

A local friend took us here a couple of times to watch sunset, grab some beers and eat. The service was time to time really slow and the food average but since the the outdoor setting and scenery are so good we all liked the place a lot. A fine place for meeting friends and watching sunset. They have also... More
