After an interesting drive along the dirt road wre arrived at a great venue where we were assisted by the staff and had a trouble free book in. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Many Moons was a great lodge to stay in and all our needs were catered for. The decor is great and very comfortable for just... more

This resort is a must for couples looking for a truly romantic getaway. The private plunge pool, totally secluded lodge, outdoor shower, daybed with the most breathtaking views and log fireplace add to this most seductive atmosphere. The food is to die for, always somrthing new and exotic to try, and for an afternoon treat a picnic basket down by... more

Beautiful place to stay. We stayed here for 2 nights on our honeymoon. Felt isolated in one of the "huts" but it was a great place. Loved the nightly turn down service with the heated beds. Personal hot tubs were great. Food was delicious in the main lodge, a little scary walking there at night through dark paths, but fun!... more

Pleased to hear that these guests enjoyed their honeymoon at our lodge. Each of the rooms (Lodges) are totally private and secluded which is why Timamoon is a popular romantic destination. Some of the the rooms are further away from the restaurant than others so it is important to book a room that is closer to the restaurant if you...

Fabulous setting in the middle of a forest with fantastic views of a waterfall from our lodge. We really enjoyed our stay here. Hidden away from the world up a 4km dirt track. We had one big negative though which was a basic thing that the owners need to get right for a 5 star location - the water..... need... more

Glad to hear that these guests did enjoy their stay at Timamoon. Regarding the lack of hot water, i am sorry that this was a bad experience. We do have the largest geyser available in South Africa (200 litres) and as our baths are no ordinary baths but rather big baths for couples to enjoy, the geyser can only cope...

We stayed there just one night. The so-called "dirty road" was quite extreme and a 4X4 is highly recommended. The room was beautiful and HUGE (not sure, though, you really need such a BIG room for a staying in wild South Africa). Unfortunately, one of the most attractive features of the accommodation were the Indian style and very romantic inside... more

Hi As this guest pointed out the pools are cold but it was during the winter period so if you plan to make use of the private pools that each room has I suggest you book between September and April. There is not much to do at Timamoon as it is more of a romantic destination. There is however river...

We have stayed twice at Timamoon - in 2006 and 2007 -and are only reviewing it now because of a negative comment left on TripAdvisor last month. Both our stays were excellent - we were well looked after, the food was superb, the views fabulous and the rooms fine. If you like solitude, peace and quiet, we would also recommend... more

We had problems here sadly. Without these I might have rated as 2 out of 5 but not 3. Note that this was our honeymoon! Driving up the dirt road to Timamoon we we're flagged down by a fast departing customer who told us not to bother going any further and that the place was "mosquito ridden", etc. So that... more

We first stayed at Timamoon in July 2006, and returned again July 2007. The place is totally out of the world, it has become our favourite place to go. Each lodge is unique in its own way, and all are interestingly decorated with bits and pieces the owners have collected on their travels. If it's romance you are after then... more

Timamoon Lodge is this hideaway spot in the Sabie River Valley, close to Kruger and Hazyview. The hotel consists of 4 or 5 lodges at the top of a mountain (with a pretty hairy drive to get there) - each probably at least 1000 ft2 with its own plunge pool and amazing view of the Sabie River. The rooms are... more
