The sand road to get to Timamoon is an adventure. It makes for a really interesting drive. I've read reviews where people complain, I thought it was great! Then over the bridge to get in to the lodge, another rush! From being greeted by Skye and helped with our bags to Amber Moon by Patrick, we realised we were in... More

Hi Thanks for your review and your comment about the road as it is actually a feature of Timamoon. The small winding road covered with a beautiful tree canopy is like driving through a little rain forest. There are also the most cutest little Rooi Duicker that are actually on the endangered list and they seem to be thriving in... More

Generally it's a very exquisite lodge, surrounding is beautiful and staff is very nice. However we found that the price we paid for is much higher for what you get. 1. Beds are old and not comfortable . 2. The beddings are satin which was not our favorite. But probably that's the style. 3. We were there during winter and... More

Hi Thanks for your review. I guess the price is all relative to what you want from a hotel. Timamoon offers 100% privacy with no other villa near you, a beautiful rim flowing pool that is only yours. Large log fireplaces, large antique four poster beds with satin linen, big double baths to share, lots of candles, endless views of... More

Following on the review of a previous reviewer,I agree that our first impressions of the accommodation was not what was expected. I will not recommend Many Moons or Amber Moon if you want to get the total unique experience to feel nurtured while being in touch with the beauty that nature has to offer at this beautiful venue. We were... More

Thanks for the review and the positive comments about our staff and chef. Yes Blue Moon is a lovely villa and totally private. It is important to note that these guests were the part of the previous review who got upgraded to Blue Moon as the toilet had been broken Management did stress to this group of 6 that it... More

We were most disappointed with the accommodation at Timamoon. The beds are of a poor quality and really high. The bathrooms were bad and very damp. When u walk in, you smell dampness. The one toilet did not flush. We were given a bucket of water to fill in to flush. When we complained ,we were given another room. One... More

It is important to realize that a hotel is under no obligation to upgrade guests especially if they already receiving a 50 % discount. Endless phone calls requesting and even insisting on a FREE upgrade and this BEFORE arriving, is really not unfair. Once the second toilet in the villa was broken by the guests on the second day and... More

It is punted as the most romantic lodge on the planet. It may just be. About 4 to 5 hours drive from Johannesburg along a good road. A nice drive. You do, however, need a high suspension vehicle to traverse the last 4km once you turn off the tar road. Dinner on Friday night was great. Incredibly well presented and... More
