My 1st experience was awesome, I booked using Agoda. But last time was my 2nd time there. I checked in on the spot and choose Mungil room which is the smallest and cheapest room. The room is decent, with TV 14'' and the remote doesn't works well. Bathroom just like standard, no hot water and only standard facilities such as... More

I spent just one night at this hotel before visiting my wife's family at a village near Blitar. I am still not sure if I saw all the facilities during my stay, as I was just shown to my room and a dining area for breakfast, so this is all I can comment on in this review. On my arrival,... More

This august we stayed one night in Hotel Tugu Blitar as a stopover between Kediri and Malang. We arrived in the early afternoon and were warmly welcomed. We stayed in the Tugu Suite in the main building. The main building is a very beautiful, colonial building. Our room was very big, authentic and clean and the bathroom has everything you... More

Tugu Blitar is a stylish hotel. The dining room is beautifull. The mainbuilding is an attraction in it self: the rooms are big and in one of those rooms Soekarno stayed several times. The building is old, and not renovated. The bathroom is not llike modern bathrooms, f.e. The sink is in the room, not in the bathroom and the... More

Friendly and helpful staff. My room was unique - 10 foot tall entrance door, a four poster bed over 2 feet from the floor with a step to get into it and a 6 foot wide oil painting on the wall set this apart from other hotels. A really enjoyable stay.

We had previously been in the Hotel Tugu Malang so when we arrived I was a little disappointed but this hotel, after a couple of nights we loved! It is quiet without the buzz of Tugu Malang but full of history. We had a room in the main building which was full of character with an partly outside bathroom. We... More

Hotel Tugu Blitar is a bit of a poor cousin to the Hotel Tugu Malang. But WHAT a poor cousin it is! One of the best hotels for the price I have ever stayed in! Historic building. Exceptional art - sculptures, paintings, design, carvings. GREAT food and service. Yes, it's a bit run down. But so what. Look at the... More

Room is clean, has ethnic feel which is amazing, and the decoration is very conceptual. This is the best hotel in Blitar, with quick service and also friendly staff there. Better if you stay more than a night to feel more about the hotel atmosphere which is unique and peace.

I have visited this hotel three times in the past ten years and never been disappointed. It has managed to preserve its 1950s ambience without getting shabby or neglected. Try to catch the gamelan concert at the weekend. Musicians very natural, no ethnic outfits, some wear baseball caps! Also take afternoon tidbits in the little hideaway opposite the gamelan alcove.... This beautiful historic hotel is a Tugu gem. Don't miss the Lost Temple Dinner. You dine (7-course meal) in an ancient temple under the stars. The service was impeccable, the wine choice superb and the experience was unforgettable. We had a lone flute player adding to the mystic and atmosphere of this most enchanting evening. The friendliness of the staff... More
