This place was great. It is placed back on a little farm outside of Rome. Don't expect to get to it by anything but a car. The rooms were great and the breakfast was nice. I would recommend this to someone who wants to just get away from the hustle and bustle of the city

I recently made a reservation through booking.com and since we were going to arrive after the reception desk closed they made arrangements with a woman to come over with the key and they gave me her cell phone number. When I called the woman that evening she hung up on me and turned her phone off. We ended up staying... More

I stayed one night at the hotel (luckily) and couldn't sleep one minute. You stay at cabins in the middle of some park and all through the night you hear noises in the ceiling. I don't know what it was, maybe the wind but it was making me nervous. I asked for the WiFi password and it never worked. Its... More

We had a lovely week long stay at the Rodrigo De Vivar. We were in rooms in Country - about 1km out of the village. As others have mentioned, arrival was a bit flakey - no-one there. We called the number on the note on the door, no answer. But then the cook arrived and let us in. We had... More

I did like this place a lot, but I can imagine it's not for everyone. It's an agriturismo, so they grow everything themselves, keep animals etc. (although we were assured that the pig, goat, horses and chicks close to the main building are purely for the guests and don't end up as prosciutto etc. somewhere down the line). It's the... More

It's a hotel, folks, but not as we know it! The Rodrigo de Vivar is something different. Just like any hotel it has rooms, a reception desk and a restaurant. The difference is that no two rooms are the same; often they’re not even in the same building, the restaurant is surrounded by goats and horses and reception is about... More

Arriving 3 hours late due to the ferry crossing from Barcelona - we found ourselves trying to locate this place at 10.00pm. I knew it was not easy from the previous reviews, but the place really could do with a sign, especially for a fully loaded car & trailer which had to be reversed on the rough tracks several times... Hotel Rodrigo De Vivar May 19 Don't judge a book by it's cover. Although the exterior of the country house seemed a bit tired, we were pleasantly surprised with the room itself. The reviews on TripAdvisor aligned with our expectation and experience. The location was peaceful and very quiet. Dispite being so close to the airport, we could not hear... More

This is an Agristurismo site and there are farm animals and it is really for people with cars. A taxi will bring you to the property, but unless you can walk a good distance you will have to call a taxi whenever you want to go somewhere. It is located close to the Ostia Antica Scavi, but the walk to... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The country house “Rodrigo de Vivar Resorts and Country” is in Central Italy, in Latium, at only 24 kilometres from Rome and five kilometres from the Fiumicino Airport. It is situated in the Roman Country, in the wide property of the Princes Aldobrandini, descendents of Pope Clemente II. It is close to the excavations of Ostia Antica and inside the Medieval “Borgo”, behind the old castle of Giulio II della Rovere. Some famous personages, such as the king Charles III of Borbone, Baldassarre Peruzzi, Pablo Picasso, Chagall and others stayed in some of our rooms in the Medieval “Borgo”.The country house consists of 10 rooms and 3 suites that are very comfortable and characterized by an unmistakable style: antique and refined furniture, fine chandeliers from Murano, original Persian carpets. It also has a very well stocked newspaper and periodical library, a videostore and a library. In each room you can find television, video-recorder, hairdryer, minibar and in "De luxe rooms" everything you need for you breakfast. ... more   less
