This hotel is way overpriced for what you get. I would give it a good review if its price were halved (which would suit the market). It took 2 hrs for the staff to get keys to work for our rooms, the front desk staff was very unhelpful refusing to answer generic questions about the region and town, the mattresses... More

The first day we had breakfast, the toaster was broken. In the first place, there is not to much of a choice for breakfast and they serve the same thing every morning. Second day at breakfast, we were told they run out of eggs! Dinner was torture. The menu looks very professional and beautiful. We ordered lamb, they didn't have... More

The Volta hotel, Located in North Ghana on the river Volta at the dam. Some very special views that can only be seen to be believed. The scenery in the area is simply stunning. This hotel has everything you could desire for a comfortable break.

The hotel overlooks the dam -- but is some distance from it. It is on a hill with a good view. The rooms are a bit shabby but clean and comfortable. The one odd thing was that it was not possible to turn of the entry and bathroom lights; the only option was to remove the key so that there... More

I have been going to Volta Hotel quite often with my family. It has good comfortable rooms and a great compound. The food served is good but nothing exceptional. It gets packed on holidays though, and when it does their service is slow. I would say they are quite flexible and helpful. Service is decent for Ghanaian standards. Major negatives... More

Awful service bordering on nakedly hostile from front desk staff. The hotel itself is very dated but seemed clean enough while the grounds of the hotel are very well maintained. The views are good and the food is local fare. Don't expect much and you won't be too disappointed.

Stayed over for our honeymoon. Apart from a few problems with the AC on the first night we were properly compensated with a very nice and spacious suite the following morning. We also enjoyed the cruise on the volta river. The weather was perfect out there.

The hotel provides a perfect view of the spectacular Lake Volta, world's largest man-made lake, as well as the Akosombo dam. Nice food. I took nicely made Tilapia fish. They also serve other continental and Ghanian delicacies. Smooth road to Accra which is about one and a half hour drive. Good experience

We were very pleased at the service and cleanliness of this hotel. Turning on the lights and other electrical appliances was a bit confusing, and it wasn't stated in the room information. But, a call to the front desk got quick service.

We came to the Volta Hotel somewhat by accident after a most unpleasant experience at Afrikiko. Our room was small, but not uncomfortably so with a balcony & nice view of the river. The water was nice & hot. The air conditioner worked wonderfully well so that we had two good night's sleep. Although the breakfasts were quite good, the... More
