Location is at Alsace route at small village Kientzheim, need a car to visit and go around. Our room was just update, very clean, spacy, probablt best and most valuable room with own balcony. Hotel has own restaurant and quality of food is great, but also need to be ready to pay. Our problem was that we do not speak... More

Comfortable rooms in typical alsacian house, beautiful view from the windows on the moutains and vineyards, extremely busy, nevertheless still friendly owner, very good and inventive cuisine - it is the short characteristics of that place. Proximity to many hiking trails through the wineyards is additional advantage. In Schwendi you can find a quintessence of alsacian hospitality and tradition.

We booked a superior room, no32 just next to the main building. Great room size, great bath with separate toilet, very clean and tastefully done out. Definitely not stuffy. Staff very friendly and we ate both evenings on the terrace. Wines are from the family wine yard and were very acceptable but not outstanding, however the main point to make... More

We, 2 couples, were based here for 3 nights while we drove to all the larger towns. This was like staying in a Swiss lodge. It was so cute, clean, nice bedding, lovely modern baths. We were not in the main building, but the side building. You have to arrive by 6 pm. They have a restaurant open a few... More

This Hotel and its Restaurant are really lovely to stay. The rooms (ours was number 4 at the front) are recently renewed and are in perfect condition. Good bedding, very nice bathroom/shower. One night we had dinner at the restaurant, and it is as good as the hotel. We surely recommend this place which is in a lovely Alsace/Elzas village.... More

We selected Kientzheim as a base for a 5 day stay in Alsace after a lot of research. It was a great choice for us. However, Kientzheim is a very small but picturesque village overlooked by hillsides with grand cru vineyards with just two restaurants, a bakery and several very good wine sales rooms. If you want more activity, Kayersberg... More

We had just 3 days, with no car, to visit Alsace. We chose Kientzheim to visit the Andre Blanck Cellar and stay at the Hostellerie Schwendi. The Schille family was amazing; Vigneron Rene [our fav Reisling Reserve 2012], Chef Fabian [our favs scallop entree, guinea hen main course], and Mireille [the soul of our visit with her kindness and language... We happened to stumble upon Kientzheim and were wanting a quiet town to stay the night in. Arrived in the afternoon and were greeted by friendly and welcoming staff. The room was a decent size and very clean. Was pleasantly surprised how modern and large the bathroom was. Unfortuneately, we didn't eat here because we walked the town and kept... More

We stayed in this lovely, family-run hotel for 3 nights. Staff are welcoming and friendly. Although our room in the main building was nicely decorated, it was a little too cosy to our liking. The bathroom was clean and functional but also a tad small. We had to book room 4, overlooking the quaint square, since this was the only... More
