We stayed at La Chouette principally because we wanted to dine at establishments in the village and not have to drive after drinking. Our room had everything we could hope for... good quality beds and linen, robes, fridge, wine and high ball glasses, comfortable chairs and access to the outside as well as the kitchen. We found the breakfast to... More

As others have indicated, La Chouette is more of a B&B than a small hotel in many ways, (particularly its unmanned reception - you ring across to the owner's home on arrival - and DIY use of the kitchen). It worked well for us for a brief stopover, with a comfortable room and a good breakfast. Suzanne seemed very businesslike... More

Staying at La Chouette for one night has left us slightly puzzled by the most recent positive reviews. First impression of the Hotel: a not particularly noteworthy private house in the village of Puligny Montrachet, with a small garden and somewhat cramped parking space. I wish I could say the owner Suzanne greeted us warmly but instead we felt rather... More

Thank-you for your comments about your stay at La Chouette during one of the hottest days since 2003. It was indeed an unusually hot week and we tried our best to keep the rooms as cool as possible by closing the windows and shutters during the day , opening them at night to let the cooler air in. Your room... More

Location is acceptable if you are interested in visiting the area. You must use the car to move to and from. Parking space available. Small hotel, clean and stylish. Rooms are spacious and well equipped ( TV, wifi, mini fridge, toiletries, slippers, nice towels and bathrobes, hairdryer etc) - with the exception of air conditioning which is rarely useful. Bed... Excellent accomodations, breakfast and advice. We stayed 2 nights and were able to walk into the surrounding vineyards and into town for dinner. It is also an easy drive to nearby towns of Pommard, Mersault and Beaune. The rooms were modern and comfortable and included a balcony, a large bath and a stocked mini bar. Breakfast included many home made... More

Suzanne is so friendly and accommodating ! She does it for fun and it shows. She suggested wonderful driving itineraries full of detalis, that everyone appreciated after each visit. And breakfast is fruity, imaginative and large! The house is configured accommodating paired rooms too. If she appears 'full' online, call her direct. And this town is a wonderful place to... More

We drive down to the South of France every year, stopping off on the way down and back - trying different places each time. We have stayed in many different types of establishments, from chateaux and larger hotels to chambres d'Hotes and smaller hotels. My husband does the driving and leaves all the bookings to me. We decided to stay... More

We've just returned from a 3 night stay. This place is run by the owner, Suzanne who is meticulous in her standards and it reflects in every corner. Our room had a lovely private outdoor table and chairs overlooking vines which was a simply divine way to enjoy wine in the evenings. The breakfast feast Suzanne prepares for her guests... More

After staying in Beaune for four nights, we spent our final night in the Burgundy area in this B&B and wished we had stayed several nights here and less time in Beaune. It is an excellent place from which to explore Burgundy and a great value compared to hotels in Beaune. Suzanne serves a wonderful breakfast, there are great restaurants... More
