We stopped here on a mammoth drive from Spain back to the UK. After eleven hours of driving in the car this hotel was a haven of tranquility - absolutely ideal. It's a little off the beaten track from the motorway, but it's set in plenty of space and had lovely grounds to walk around, along with some interesting livestock... More

We stayed here with friends in July 2014 and were very pleasantly surprised , we had read that it was a bit worn and tired, must have been a different place !! it was immaculate the rooms were all newly decorated and very comfortable, it sits on a lake with great walks and views. The only slight downside was the... More

Although only a stop over on way down to South France,we had very comfortable room with comfortable beds and great restraurant and best breakfast offered during trip. Our Cocker spaniel enjoyed his stay and was very happy with great walks around lakes and grounds.

Fantastic scenery beautiful hotel. Dining inside or out are great but way over price Room ground floor very large but disgusting lighting, connat open curtains because you can be seen, second floor more cosy hight window you don't see the park and in the winter watch your steep. Great bar Over all really nice but $$$$ if you eat there too.

This hotel is in the Relais de Silence association and is set in a lovely rural location. In style, the buildings are a cross between hunting lodge and Swiss chalet. The bedrooms are furnished in simple, almost stark chalet-style, with sloping ceilings, much wood but without curtains at the windows or rugs on the tiled floors, and are accessed by... More

A one night stop over in a delightful setting. Pleasant staff, nice decor. Excellent restaurant with knowledgeable and affable semelier. Negatives include problem of no hot water in one room and the other, like a furnace.......would consider staying again. No offer to change rooms!! But small discount!

We stayed at Oree des Chenes for one night on our way to South West France. The hotel is outside the town but the grounds are lovely and peaceful. We had a room on the first floor which was very charming and tastefully furnished. As other reviewers have said, there is limited headroom due to the sloping ceilings, but this... More

This hotel is approached via a long drive through the grounds, with a lake with swans and ducks before you reach the hotel buildings. The parking is at the back of the hotel (as is the entrance) and so dropping bags etc is very convenient. Our room was a "superior" and upstairs. It was spacious, tiled with a double bed... More

I stayed to break the journey between the Pyrenees and the channel tunnel on the recommendation of some friends and was not disappointed. The rooms were comfortable and well appointed although those upstairs have limited headroom. The restaurant is of a very high calibre and I had a delicious meal before a sound sleep - ready to travel the next... More

We are always on the look out for somewhere to stop over on our way north or south through France. We've stayed in a variety of hotels in a variety of locations. This hotel is very accessible to the autoroute south of Orleans (in both directions) and is a real gem. The setting is beautiful, with ample parking close to... More
