Just a few kms from the center of Grenoble, the Chateau is very conveniently located for business travelers who are looking for something different to the usual plastic chain hotels. The rooms are spacious with comfortable beds, and seating area for relaxing after a busy day. Parking is free and secure. There is a small spa and pool although I... More

Le Chateau de la Commanderie is my favorite hotel when I'm in Grenoble for a conference at the AlpExpo. It is very conveniently located, just south of the Rocade Sud freeway, walking distance from the AlpExpo when weather is mild. The Charme rooms in the main building are very nice and quiet; the breakfast buffet is also very nice (and... More

Great Hotel, loved our stay, very close to Grenoble and with a fantastic restaurant for a memorable deliciuos and imaginative dinner and copious breakfast. Absolutely Loved it. The Cote Roti wine was delicious and even in the restaurant was a third what we pay to take home. I suspect other reviewers were confused which hotel they stayed in!

I spent a few months there while on business in Grenoble between; I was getting tired of Mercure President's austere rooms. I enjoyed every day, evening and night there. I was privileged of having the largest rooms and suites and in spite of the air conditioning absence, the thick walls provided a reasonable thermal isolation (in July). It is true... More

Rooms at eur 200 were bare austere and poorly furnished. Dinner was a disaster. The menu commanderie at eur 67 was sloppily presented and straight from the freezer. When we complained (politely) the manager was not interested and grudgingly gave us a free breakfast. Scant consolation as the breakfast consisted of stale bread, machine delivered coffee, congealed scrambled eggs etc.... More

Stayed for 1 night as part of a week tour with French cycling holidays. We were given the handicapped/wheelchair suite, which was great, large room, good sized bathroom, though this was a wet room to accomodate wheelchairs, so whole of bathroom floor got wet, so could be very slippery. This room was on level 3 with lift access. Our room... More

I stayed here for 2 nights in June during a business trip. The hotel is beautiful and surrounded by mountains - I was greatly impressed as the car pulled in to the drive way. Check in was simple, and my room large and clean - with free wifi that worked well so I could work easily whilst in my room.... More

I stayed here on business and was disappointed in the experience. No air conditioning in the room, quite an older room. Otherwise the environment is beautiful, nice pool, pretty grounds. The breakfast was good but overpriced - 16 euros. It's served in the restaurant which looks like the dining room of the castle. In fact the restaurant is supposed to... More

Room and environment was very good, nevertheless, being there for 1 week on a business trip I was not able to eat dinner in the hotel resto. On Mondays it is closed, then, the other evening I was told I do not have reservation, so I cannot eat anything. As hotel is in a small vilage, there is a Buffalo... More

Even though we arrived late, the manager convinced the chef to allow us to have dinner at the hotel restaurant without reservations. This dinner was spectacular. We enjoyed over Five courses to include our favorites of Fois Gras on a bed of veal tartare, duck breast, and monkfish cooked perfectly. This was one of our best meals during entire month... More
