We spent a weekend in the romantic Château Les Bruyères in early spring and have really enjoyed our stay. After crossing the gate, an alley lined with majestic trees leads to the Empire-style chateau, surrounded by a large park and green meadows. We were greeted warmly, before being taken to our room which was located in the beautiful manor house... more

This place has set the standard for us - the chateau is simply beautiful (not to mention secured and quiet). The decoration looks so casually thrown together but on closer inspection, a lot of thought has been put into it. The fact that both Philippe and Michele take a lot of pride in the chateau is obvious and who can... more

This place is great. We stayed for three nights in a room on the first floor of the main Chateau building. The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. We ate in the restaurant twice and it was excellent. The staff were really friendly too - especially in the restaurant where the food is explained to you in enthusiastic detail... more

We, like so many others it seems, stayed for two nights at the start of our touring holiday. Being a cheapskake, I booked the single room with the double bed - and to be honest it was adequate, though a little cramped for the two of us. This hotel appears to be run as a hobby rather than a passion,... more

Thank goodness we didn't believe the negative reports! We stayed for 2 nights en route back to the UK from 3 weeks in France and would be delighted to return. It wasn't cheap, but I felt we got reasonable value. The welcome and ongoing interaction with the staff was excellent. Opted to speak in French and this was in general... more

Hotel is a bit hit and miss. The front of the house overlooks a pretty park including a long driveway, the back of the garden is very close to the stables. The swimming pool area is small but gorgeous. Our room was ok but rather small for the price. Some of the bits which give the place its charm produce... more

We stayed at Chateau Les Bruyeres the first 2 nights of our touring holiday of France. It was the most expensive of the establishments we stayed at, but the worst! The approach, grounds and exterior of the Chateau are impressive, but the interior does not live up to the same standard. I would estimate it was 'modernised’ in the early... more

We booked the Chateau les Bruyeres for the final two nights of our holiday and opted for one of the best rooms on the 1st floor of the main building, overlooking the main drive. The Chateau was easy to find and well signposted from the D50 road, with an impressive gated entrance. However the long driveway was very bumpy -... more

The chateau room was good. Where we experienced the problem was at the restaurant, and the reaction and response to our dissatisfaction with the meal. All communication was done in French, as I had lived in France and frequently return with various friends and family. We arrived at the chateau on May 17th, during a thunderstorm. The hostess greeted me... more
