I recently stayed at this excellent hotel about 20 km from Bordeaux. Nestled among the vines, I was there doing some research for my company's 2010 Tour de France trips. Upon arrival, the owner Jean Marc greeted me warmly, made dinner, and we spent about 3 hours talking and laughing away. It truly felt like staying with a good friend.... more

We were looking for a place close in to Bordeaux but a quiet place out in the countryside. Chateau Camiac was the perfect choice. The staff was attentive and we were shown several available rooms. We opted for one in the artfully modernized stables. Our room was air conditioned with a balcony facing the chateau and the open fields beyond.... more

We had a marvellous stay at Chateau Camiac. Our host provided us with individual attention, both at the chateau and by helping us with a range of great wine experiences in the districts of Sauternes and St Emilion. The room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. Our meals were of the highest standard, especially dinner which had us wiping... more

We had a wonderful stay at this historic chateau built in 1834. It was in excellent condition having been recently renovated and the grounds were beautiful. A small number of staff provided very personalized attention and they were always curteous. The gormet food in the restaurant exceeded our expectations both in presentation and quality. We recommend this location for anyone... more

My partner and I stayed at Chateau Camiac for 4 nights commencing Wednesday 23rd May. This is the first time I have ever complained after a holiday . The hotel was empty for our first two nights which whilst not an issue, was a little strange and scary. The staff were very friendly and attentive and the food was fine,... more

After a long search in this practically deserted part of France we came across Camiac down a long private drive. This Chateau has been updated to a contemporary Frencg style, so don't expect period details. The chateau has some simply breathtaking rooms but we opted to stay in the stables which were well restored with fabulous beams. The restaurant maitre... more

This is a very charming chateau with peaceful surroundings in the heart of the Bordeaux region. Staff is very considerate, helpful and lets you visit exclusive vineyards without appointment. Be sure to visit Chateau Belair - its vintage wine (we tried 1975) is excellent with price much more moderate than other vineyards of the same Premier Gran Cru wines. The... more
