We thought this Parador was great. Been there since the 30s but they are keeping up the maintenance. In fact they were doing significant reconstruction on the building while we were there but it never bothered us. Rooms are quite spacious and service was good. Dinner was disappointing, presentation was excellent but the quality of the original ingredients for the... More

This former palace really gives you the experience of being royalty. The common rooms are impressive, with sumptuous decor. This whole place was like a maze of grand rooms, eventually leading to the dining room with a vaulted ceiling and wooden beams. It was a joy to explore. Our room was spacious with a very large bathroom. Our view overlooked... More

Excellently restored medieval castle. Only 48 rooms with two superior suites reasonably priced. Great place for a relaxing weekend. Attentive service. Good restaurant with regional dishes. Large rooms with fireplace that promote conversation and caradery with friends and family.

The castle-palace of Oropesa is the noblest building of the village. The Parador occupies part of the Palace that is in front of the castle, a 12/13th century Arab construction. On the wall of the Castle doesn't lack even a medieval cage, where prisoners were terminated, exposed and left to die. The main door of the fortress closes early, on... More

Paradors are for history lovers (sure, for gastronomy as well...) and this one fully meets the expectations of such a traveler. The Hotel is located in a 15th century palace/castle that dominates an entire side of the very quiet village of Auroras. We got a very nice and large room with a magnificent view over the countryside. The food at... More

I was really pleased with the price I got this Parador for and it turned out to be excellent value. Set on a hill next to a castle, 5 minutes walk from the square in Oropesa. Built in the 1300s, well preserved and tastefully decorated. Large rooms with beautiful views and massive public rooms. Oropesa is a small, typically Spanish... More

This is deep, deep Spain and hospitality at its best! It is not 5 star hotel and it has seen better days in the past but its faded glamour in combination with the heat and dust at the edge of La Mancha make an unforgettable setting. Ask for a room with a view towards the Sierra de Gredos and wake... More

Sumptuous furnishings huge expense including magnificent rugs and luxurious carpets all help to add to the splendour of this magnificent and perfectly restored castle. The terrace for a drink and to read where wifi works is just fantastic and the bar service is excellent too. It's always a pity when you get such perfection including the style of the dining... More

It is one of the most beautiful Parador I ever been. Really well preserve, very quiet and in an interesting village The welcome was really nice, also the dinner , which was delicious (although the waiter could smile a little bit more and be more kind) But the best was the feeling to be a queen for some hours. I... More

My daughter and I try and visit to this Parador every year – and we look forward every year to the few days we can spend in such entrancing surroundings. I’ve been coming off and on to the Parador for the past 30 years – and it has little changed. At one of my first visits, the late Paquirri, a... More
