Disclaimer: I have a broad preference for hotels with personality, furniture that does not match too much, high ceilings and rambling terraces. Having said that, I adored this hotel. It is out in the middle of Fricking Nowhere, but the architecture and interior spaces were lots of fun. I loved driving into the courtyard with about four centimeters to spare,... More

The room was small but well-appointed, with a spacious bathroom, and a nice view of the town. The included breakfast was very good. There were several nice parks and terraces for walks around the castle, and it was an easy walk to restaurants on the main plaza. One drawback was a musty smell in the halls, but fortunately not in... More

We arrived very late due to a delayed flight and didn't realise that our room was over the tunnel entrance to the courtyard and the bin lorry came thundering in very early. We were offered another room which was smaller but decided to stay put. we closed the wooden shutters the second evening and it was much quieter. Breakfast served... More

As a history buff I love to visit castles and historic places. To do this in Spain, staying a historic Paradores is a real treat. Set in a small town, the Parador tops the hill where the city lies.In October there were few guests, plenty of parking space. The elegance of the decoration and furniture contributed to the delightful ambiance.... More

Held conferences at this hotel which meant i had to stay for over 2 weeks as i was helping organise. The hotel and Castle are indeed fantastic, the town relatively small full of bars and places to eat, great on a Saturday or Sunday evening when the locals come to town, such friendly atmosphere. The food at the Parador was... More

Stayed here one night on route to Trujillo. Late flight into Madrid, approx 1.5 hours easy drive. Could see parador from some distance away. Amazing castle complete with very grand entrance, well signposted from main road. Floodlit castle in grounds of parador, very spectacular, plenty of parking. Room had amazing views over countryside and was well appointed. Ate in the... More

It was a real treat while on our self-drive tour of Spain to be able to stay in this historic, hilltop building. After checking in we went for a stroll around Oropesa, nice but nothing special. Back in the Parador, we had a couple of drinks on the balcony overlooking the courtyard and then enjoyed a fine diner in the... More

This parador is situated on a hill with a beautiful view over the landscape. We had a nice room with a grand view over Castilla la Mancha and we felt very well to be there with is fresh air, friendly atmosphere and kind staff. The restaurant served high quality dishes. I can't do anything else than recommend you a visit... More

The flight was delayed, which meant a late arrival in the dark, but in compensation, the view of the floodlit parador high on a hill was spectacular. The satnav took us safely through the narrow streets to the castle entrance, where my hired car decided it had had enough for the day, and put it's brakes on. when I got... More

This Parador is located in a medieval Spanish castle only about 1 hour and 15 minutes drive from Madrid on the A5. This is a truly spectacular castle and the common rooms are fitted out with period furniture and painting / tapestries eye. There is a great original fireplace in the bar that is send when it's cold out. Which... More
