The Parador of Oropesa was the very first Parador in Spain. It is a hotel set in a castle built in the 1300s. It sits on a dominant hill above the plains of La Mancha. It truly is a museum as well as a castle. The paintings, furnishings and memorabilia are of interest to history buffs. The setting is wonderful,...

Of all the places in our tour of Cuenca, Toledo and now here, this was the best hotel. The atmosphere here is wonderful and romantic. Goodness sake we stayed in an old palace connected to a castle! It doesn't get much cooler than that.
Our room was on the 5th floor which gave us a great view over the town....

On a relaxed drive from Toledo we came upon Oropesa and entered grand entrance to enchanting Castle courtyard. A real castle with really friendly staff at reception making us feel welcome. Lovely dip in pool before we had a truly splendid dinner and wine with exceptionally friendly waiters engaging all members of family. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit

We had our wedding celebration there recently and also stayed for two nights. The hotel is in a wonderful location and full of character given the old buildings and antique furnishings.
Our room was lovely with dual aspect, four poster bed and lovely and clean (if somewhat basic) bathroom. It had a mini bar, wifi and air con.

The Parador sits atop this small village of Oropesa which to say it is charming is to commit a total understatement. The hotel itself is fronted by welcoming and friendly staff. The rooms are large with...

We ate lunch at the Parador and were treated to the most gourmet meal I have ever had. There were even little syringes to put the sauce over our food! It was absolutely delicious and every plate was a work of art. We enjoyed views of the castle and the countryside while we ate. While the service isn't extremely personable,...

Our family of four traveled across Spain for twenty-one days. One of our most memorable stays was the Parador de Oropesa. The room, furnishings, grounds, restaurant, castle, and surrounding villa were magnificent!
The 4-star hotel and room felt as if we were staying in a medieval palace...lush furnishings, draperies, woodframed windows that opened for views over the Toledo mountains and...

We stayed two nights here on a tour around La Mancha and Extremadura. It is the most stunning location – try to book a dinner table by the restaurant windows and watch the sun go down over the Sierra de Gredos – wow! For a drink or snack, you can sit on the terrace with a view of the castle...
