We received a warm welcome to a warm and friendly pub after a walk locally to Newton Bank and around the canal. The landlord was welcoming, the Wainwrights ale in superb condition and the food was perfect. Good value and well presented. We will be back again soon.........all village pubs should be like this! Thank you

We arrived at 3.30pm after a circular walk around the canal and village. Very warm and welcoming in the fading light. Our dog flaked out under the table, we had lasagne and garlic bread with a side order of chunky chips - really filling and satisfying. We watched the locals filling up this lovely pub, greeting and chatting with one... More

The Masons Arms is exactly what it claims to be: it is a pub with rooms. We arrived on a Friday night for a three night stay based around a friend's wedding at the village church just opposite the pub. We had a good welcome on Friday night, and enjoyed the (proper) pub food and really good beer. Our room... More

A group of us mountain bike in the Gargrave area from time to time . The Masons is our favorite venue for after ride drinks and eats.. In winter there is usually a very welcome fire in the grate.Even when we are muddy and damp we get a warm welcome.Good choice of beers which goes down well

My husband and I stayed here for a weekend break, we have stayed in Gargrave and Skipton numerous times, but our first time here. We had room 2 which was spotlessly clean, and very comfortable, good size bathroom, with great hot water. John the owner made us feel very welcome, and took us to our room explaining where every thing... More

Went for a drink. Decent pint of Tetleys and plenty of atmosphere even though it was early doors. Plenty of people having meals etc. worth a visit even from the canal. Seemed to be a decent range of wine although I am no expert. Locals suggested this was the better of the two in the village.

If you are walking, hiking, biking, barging or just taking a break in the dales it will be hard to beat the Mason's Arms. John and Nicola run a ral local pub with fantastic food at very reasonable prices with the added value of very good local clients. A memorable experience for my wife and I.

I was looking for somewhere to stay overnight whilst travelling with two largish dogs from the ferry in Scotland to the Kennel Club International Agility Festival at Rockingham Castle in Leicestershire. I have travelled this road many times and had always liked the look of Gargrave with its river and canal so knowing that I had business in Otley the... More
