This is the forth, I think, time I have stayed here and again had an excellent stay. I come across from the Isle of Man on the evening ferry and stay one night befor making my way to which ever place in England I am going to. I cannot fault this hotel in any way from the crisp white cotton... More

Stayed for a couple of nights last week with my husband and a group of friends, for a New Year party at a friend's house just round the corner. I can't speak highly enough of the Porthouse. It's a very clean and comfortable guest house and has everything you would find in any hotel. Our room ( Room 7) was... More

On a wet and windy winter's night, snuggling into a cosy room at the Port House is bound to set you right. I revisited last week and found the usual friendly welcome, personally cooked breakfast and so on in spite of the recent flooding and power cuts in Lancaster and surrounds. The shops had bare fridges but the kitchen at... More

We spent one night here in the Executive Suite. It is a lovely room. Very spacious, comfortable living area with a fridge. Very large, clean bathroom with a modern, powerful shower and fluffy towels. The bed was extremely comfortable with crisp white linen. Breakfast was very good and the staff were extremely friendly and couldn't do any more to help... More

We stayed one night prior to catching the IoM ferry. The Port House is spotlessly clean and comfortable with a friendly owner. The breakfast was excellent and freshly cooked to order. It couldn't be in a better location for ferry users. You can see the ferry from the front windows and it takes one minute to drive to the entrance... More

I just love this Guest House. It is warm, friendly, fastidiously clean and the breakfast and staff are brilliant. What more can I say. Every time I have stayed here my room is large and very well appointed, this time room 4, great bathroom and the best bed in the world. I will continue to return as it is literally... More

This is, I think, the 3rd time I have stayed here and I would highly recommend it. Very comfortable beds, first class powers shower, spacious, airy bedrooms, spotlessly clean and on top of this the breakfast is not only very well cooked but of good quality also. This is an excellent good value place to stay for, like me, one... More

Stayed one night for a wedding in the village. Nightmare panic the night before when we see check in is at 4, bugger, I start looking for alternatives, Caroline calls them and has a hat, within seconds all problems gone. Check in at 1 ..
