El Rocio itself is from another world, unpaved roads to protect horses' hooves, white houses, many chapels. El Toruno is according to locals the best restaurant in El Rocio. We had lunch and dinner there. The back of the restaurant is separated only by a small dirt rod from the marshes so if there is daylight you can see the... More

We stayed for few days in El Rocio and every evening we had delicious moments on this terace restaurant. I never eat olives but him theirs you can start, amazing taste and satious. Ham iberico which they served us was a very good one and the stuff was very pleasant. The red house wine-sublime. I recommand this place for chilling... More

A birdwatching trip to Donana, made all the more magical by staying at Hotel Toruno. El Rocio is a throw back to no Tarmac streets, and horses have right of way. The hotel overlooks a lake with wild horses and deer wading through the water. The hotel and is excellent with friendly and helpful staff, with breakfast being served in... More

The hotel has reasonably comfortable rooms, many with a small balcony and view over the Charco de la Boca and its wonderful birdlife. Our room was not large and the bathroom also small. The twin beds were a bit firm and furnishings rather old-fashioned but clean. Weather wasn't great so the room felt cold to start with but we were... More

As most reviewers say, the location is memorable and extraordinary. I wouldn't have missed coming here, but one night was enough. We had room 203 which faces away from the lake and was tiny, chilly and stark. 3 coat hangers in a little cupboard and horrible rock-hard twin beds with old-fashioned bedspreads. If we'd been in a lake-facing room so... More

The Hotel Toruno is well known for birdwatchers, with a fabulous location overlooking the Donana marshes. Our room, while basic, had views overlooking the marshes, which was great. Breakfast is included and is good. The lounge area is welcoming with lots of info and good wifi. The restaurant serves good local food and wines and is perfect for a beer... More

Clean and everything worked. Very courteous and helpful front desk lady Marta. El Rocio has changed from 6 years ago. Back then no cars were allowed in the town; only horses and exquisite buggies. Now the few horse riders and buckboards compete with the hoard of cars. Still the hotel was very nice.

Combined with hotel restaurant - which is not in hotel and location there really is no other option worth considering in Rocio. Highly recommended, great value - ultimate chill out town if you're on the Andalucian tourist route.

Great place if you want something a bit out of the ordinary. Service was very good and food was excellent as were the wines! Suberb place but try not to visit at pilgrimage time in May as it's heaving with 10s of thousands of faithfulls.

This hotel and restaurant are ideal for touring Cota Donana or just chilling in the fascinating town of El Rocio with its amazing church, wild west feel and ubiquitous horses. From our comfortable, air -conditioned room I could see the flamingoes, godwits and other waders on the marisma. Staff were efficient and friendly. The food is great - especially the... More
