Staff was nice, room clean and price was correct. Beds left room for improvement, very low end mattresses that give little comfort. Back started to hurt right away. But like most things in El Rocio, focus is not on high quality or value, so clean and affordable is about the best things you can ask for. All roads in El... More

WOW! - what a brilliantly quirky little town to arrive in! This is more like the set of a brilliant little western- the town has no roads or pavements, just sand, and is better suited to the horseback locals! The hotel was charmingly and characteristically basic - but the rooms were clean and comfortable and seemed to offer a taste... More

Spent one night over, in a quadruple room together with 3 more friends. The experience was quite positive, the room was divided into two places separated by a door, and we shared bathroom and kitchen. Everything was clean and functional. A very nice receptionist welcomed us and offered her advice and info for our trips around El Rocío. I would... More

Not knowing what to expect we were a bit dubious about staying at a hostel after listening to other travellers. We were not at all disappointed. The hostel was very clean & very comfortable albeit slightly quirky (but in a good way). The breakfast was very basic but better than one of the hotels we stayed at previously in El... More

The town is a strange place where horses are more accommodated than cars. The hostel was basic but seemed to be typical of the area and did the job. The air con worked well and all was clean. The highlights for me however were the reception staff who also served the breakfast. They both took time to explain things to... More

Beware that the hotel will convert your bill into GBP (UK customers) and charge you a mark-up for this. They did this despite my request to pay in euros. The invoice states euros, the card-reader display states euros, but the card-reader print-out (which most people stuff into their pocket or wallet without reading) states that they will convert it and... we've stayed over a week-end at this hostal, a typical experience when staying in El Rocio, with the sandy street, the bar to attach the horses at the entrance, and the courtyard with lush plants just outside the room. Breakfast is a bit simple. But you get Wi-Fi everywhere for free.

Stayed in this hostal for one night on the way to Doñana national park (early morning visit). It is located in the Western-style village of El Rocio. The room was apartment-style, with 1 bedroom, one pre-room with a sofa, a kitchenette and a bathroom. Staff was nice, the room was very quiet and the bed comfortable. I did not have... More

OK this is NOT an hotel, but a hostal. That said it is as good as an hotel, and in some cases, better. My wife and I plus 2 friends (all 60+,but looking 30!!) spent 5 days there, from 26th Apl, on a birding trip, for which the area is renowned. So many pluses. Reception was first class, rooms were spotless,... More

Would recommend the Hostal. Most comfortable Helpful and attractive staff. Room air conned which is essential as the area is pretty warm from early season. Like most Hostels not all rooms have outside window, some overlook the courtyard.
