I have stayed at Cortijo Roman with my family for the last 3 years and have experienced a wonderfully, tranquil, relaxing setting. The cortijo is set around beautifully kept gardens full of colour, beautiful mountain views and a fabulous pool which is perfect for the whole family. A few minutes drive takes you to the picturesque white village of Jimena De La Frontera with... More

I stayed for one week in this beautiful farm in February last year. It was just what I have been looking for! Located about 40KM of the coast of Gibraltar and on the border to one of the biggest natural parks in Spain it is a superb location to stay if you want to experience the beauty of Spanish country... I've just got back from my second 2 week stay at the Cortijo Roman, and can wholeheartedly recommend it as a holiday destination, particularly if you have children. The farm itself is set around a stunningly beautiful courtyard with views up to the 'White Village' of Jimena on the hillside just above. The accommodation is private, clean, comfortable, though not... More

Jimena de la Frontera is a beautiful village and Cortijo Roman an interesting converted farm. However our accomodation was partially clean, there were large numbers of spiders and spider's webs in the bathroom and the bedding (duvet, blankets and bedcover) were old and dusty. When these matters were brought up with the proprietor she accused myself and my partner of... More

We spent time at Cortijo Roman this July - a great place to explore the rural Andalucia. We stayed in one of the 2 bedroom bungalows. Not fancy but with everything you need for a family of 4 with 2 children. The kitchen was somewhat randomly equipped, but as we ate out a fair bit, it was not so important.... More

We have been going to Cortijo Roman for several years. It is ideally located just outside a small town which has all you need - a good supermarket, 4 or 5 good places to eat out and ample other facilities including medical. Jimena is in striking distance of the Med beaches - both sandy and rocky (30 mins drive), Atlantic... More

Cortijo Roman is home from home, comfortable friendly and beautifully situated in a quite valley a mile or so from Jimena. The owners are friendly and helpful and keep the gardens lovely. A car is a necessity as there is so much to see in this amazing part of Spain. Each house is reached by its own path and a... More

My wife and I have stayed at Cortijo Roman on a number of occasions and at different times of the year. Our experiences have been universally good and we have recommended it to many of our friends who have gone on to stay at Cortijo Roman. The natural beauty of the area is wonderful and it is still relatively unspoilt.... More

Rooms were damp hence damp furniture and beds. Dirty bedding. Insufficient hot water to accomodate guests. Electric radiators removed prior to arrival. Kitchens poorly equipped. Swimming pool filthy. General areas around grounds not child friendly. Neglected looking donkey in grounds braying day and night. Gardens scruffy and unkept. Poor location - need to be very fit to walk steep hill... More
