We stayed at La Bastiglia for two days this past week. It was a wonderful experience. The modernistic hotel sits high up on a hill overlooking Spello and the countryside, and is very easy to reach from the highway, about a five minute drive. The room and bathroom were super clean, very modern in decor. The bed was large and... More

We stayed at this hotel on a tour of Italy and Sicily this month. Our room was roomy, in excellent repair, clean, with a modern bathroom. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating. Dinner was delicious, as was the wine. The setting was quiet and peaceful after a very crowded tour of Asissi that day. Wine was included with dinner,... More

The La Bastiglia has a great restaurant. You can sit outside and get fabulous views of mt sebastio and valley or dine indoors. We have eaten there once a year for past three years and each meal was delicious. It does not open for dinner till 8 pm but it is worth the wait great local wines

What a lovely spot...Stayed at either end of a walking holiday and had read reviews which made us cautious. Our room was lovely with a great bathroom. Only criticism is the carpet was rough on weary feet! The pool took some discovering down a musty corridor (under a road?) but the terrace had one of the finest views of the... More

We had two nights here at either end of a cycling holiday. The views from the terrace are beautiful, lovely to watch the sun go down on Monte Subasio with a drink in hand, and eating breakfast looking at it was a treat. It is well located on the edge of Spello. We only ate there one night as the... More

This hotel was once an establishment which rightly enjoyed an extremely good reputation with a restaurant with a Michelin star… in the very distant past. Unfortunately the place is trading off its past reputation and its service and appointments are now extremely disappointing. We travelled with people who had been regular guests when the hotel was still being professionally operated... More

Great location in Spello. Had a bit of glamour, but although staff sweet were not customer focused - lots of popping out for ciggies and chatting together rather than providing excellent service. Pool really grim. But all there if someone took control - rooms nice, wonderful views and potentially smart atmosphere. Would still probably stay there if visited Spello as... More

As we had a dinner date with friends in Spello and had booked a concert in Assisi we decided to stay in Spello. We did not have a booking anywhere so walked into La Bastiglia and try our luck. We were offered a room and breakfast for 80 Euro, we looked at each other and both thought for a 4... More
