Just got back from 2 weeks in italy. stayed at la bastiglia along the way for 2 nights. place is nicely located and maintained. incredible views of the valleys of spello. Support staff were extremely nice and helpful. We really only encountered 2 issues. 1. if you don't like the smell of febreeze, beware, it appears to be there cleaning... More

Stayed here as part of our cycling trip around Umbria and had a beautiful room with spectacular views across the Umbrian valley. we stayed twice, both times on a Wednesday, so the restaurant was closed. This wasn't a problem except that we had to walk to the other end of the village to the restaurant booked by our tour company,... More

We were part of a big wedding party staying all around Spello & were thrilled when we arrived to see this was the property we'd noticed on another visit when it was off season. Welcomed by Nicola who took us to our room which was fresh & clean, with a vestibule, lovely bathroom & a stunning view over the valley.... More

stayed for 3 nights. There was no one to help with baggage. Was fortunate to have been assigned a room close by. The room was well kept and clean. The ac makes noise and starts cooling at 430 am. Breakfast is very simple. No hot dishes available since there is no chef in the morning. You get coffee, pastries and... More

Have stayed here in the past but would no longer recommend it. The staff and the restaurant has all changed & it is a shadow of its former past. No help with bags up & down the 42 steps to our bedroom even when the porter looked at us struggling. Dark rooms &, when we complained of fleas in the... More

We only had one night here on a cycling holiday & sadly it was the chefs night off so we didn't get to experience the food. Our room was nice & clean although there was quite a bit of mould in the shower, although everywhere else was spotless. The bed was large & comfortable. We had a good welcome to... More

We stayed at La Bastiglia for two days this past week. It was a wonderful experience. The modernistic hotel sits high up on a hill overlooking Spello and the countryside, and is very easy to reach from the highway, about a five minute drive. The room and bathroom were super clean, very modern in decor. The bed was large and... More

We stayed at this hotel on a tour of Italy and Sicily this month. Our room was roomy, in excellent repair, clean, with a modern bathroom. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating. Dinner was delicious, as was the wine. The setting was quiet and peaceful after a very crowded tour of Asissi that day. Wine was included with dinner,... More

The La Bastiglia has a great restaurant. You can sit outside and get fabulous views of mt sebastio and valley or dine indoors. We have eaten there once a year for past three years and each meal was delicious. It does not open for dinner till 8 pm but it is worth the wait great local wines

What a lovely spot...Stayed at either end of a walking holiday and had read reviews which made us cautious. Our room was lovely with a great bathroom. Only criticism is the carpet was rough on weary feet! The pool took some discovering down a musty corridor (under a road?) but the terrace had one of the finest views of the... More
