We arrived after a long tip and very narrow roads to a beautifully restful town and hotel. We had a standard room but the view made it superior. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The swimming pool added some interest. Meals on the terrace were delicious and the wine list extensive. Would go again anytime!

We had stayed here many years ago when we wanted to visit Assisi. We returned for only one night. The rooms are nice. However, the view is outstanding. The patio where breakfast is makes for a great start. The breakfast is very good with many choices. We regretted that the restaurant was closed. We want to commend Eleonora for her... More

Our immediiate family of 18 persons traveled to Italy and ,after traveling independently, spent 6 days together at this lovely hotel. We stayed here 20 years ago with 2 of our chidren (while on a bike trip) and remembered it fondly. Eleanore and Nicola Fiore at the desk were always ready to assist with suggestions or advice. Nicola helped with our... More

We enjoyed our stay here in Spello. We had a room with a small terrace that we used to relax on after a meal in town. Our room was very nice, clean and comfortable. Staff were helpful. The best part of this hotel is their beautiful dining terrace. We did not have a meal here, but had drinks late afternoon... More

Recently we stayed at La Bastiglia for 4 nights. We found the location to be excellent. It's an easy walk to the shops and restaurants in Spello from the location. Our room was large, comfortable, and clean. The bathroom was large, but we did not like the shower---small and quite dangerous to climb in and out of since it was... More

We were booked here by our Explore Travel company, and very pleased with the result. Nice hotel and excellent restaurant, with some of the best meals we had in Italy, and only for a small premium price (about €10 to €15 a dish) and worth it. Anywhere in old Spello will be quiet, and here at the top end of... More

We booked this hotel as part of our wedding anniversary trip around southern Italy. Of all the hotels we stayed in over ten days (and many were 3 star or B&B), this was the most disappointing. Despite being 4star it did not match expectations. Given it was May, but room was less than 4 star- broken old fashioned hairdryer, no... More

Having stayed at this hotel on several occasions we always find it tranquil, peaceful and comfortable. It is perfectly positioned to visit the fabulous area of Umbria . Breakfasts on the terrace cannot be beaten, dinner too is delightful. The position of this hotel has the bonus of being close to many super restaurants...within walking distance. Lovely rooms, slightly dated but very... More

Stayed here as part of our cycling trip around Umbria and had a beautiful room with spectacular views across the Umbrian valley. we stayed twice, both times on a Wednesday, so the restaurant was closed. This wasn't a problem except that we had to walk to the other end of the village to the restaurant booked by our tour company,... More
