This is a hotel of charm and old world character. We loved our brief stay. Spello itself is a great little town. Quite a few tourists but most of them Italian so it still has a "local feel". Plenty to see and do and the narrow streets are splendid. The hotel is by no means modern but it is clean... More

We stayed at II Cacciatore Hotel in Spello, Umbria for 4 nights at the end of September. The view from our valley facing room was incredible. We had lunch and breakfast on the panoramic outdoor terrace. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is located in the heart of medieval Spello. We explored all of the quaint little... More

Stayed here a few years ago and loved the hotel, restaurant and views. Liked it so much we drove back from Assisi on a trip last year just for lunch on the terrace. Same staff was there and we were more than pleased with the food. If you are in Umbria, I am not sure you could stay anywhere more... More

Fantastic views from the valley-facing rooms of this charming property located in the heart of medieval Spello. Very quiet and relaxing. Strong points: Gracious, personalized service from proprietors, clean, modern room with comfortable bed and fantastic views, excellent air conditioning and bathroom, panoramic outdoor terrace, fresh cakes for breakfast. Restaurant downstairs. More restaurants, bus stop (to Spello and Assisi) and... More

We spent 2 nights at The Cacciatore which we found to be clean and welcoming. The bed was probably one of the best we had in Italy. Breakfast was basic in terms of choice but was good and with pleasant service. The view was spectacular and left us wishing we had more time to explore the surrounding areas. Assisi was... More

We enjoyed our time in Spello, which is a beautiful and quaint town. Hotel II Cacciatore is a wonderful location for spending a night there, and provides some spectacular views of the region. The breakfast options are of high quality as well.

Getting there was the half the fun, naviagating those tiny winding laneways, but on arrival I was Instantly smitten. The lovely lady at check in, good suit and all came out to assist us in unloading the and storing the bikes, which it seemed was typically of all the people who worked there, especially the hosts. Our room was decorated... More

My wife & I stayed a few nights in this hotel in the heart of Spello, a wonderful place to stay and use as a home base for exploring Umbria, Tuscany, & the Marches. We had a breathtaking view from our room and thoroughly recommend staying here. If you have a car, this place is ideal because the hosts will... More

Attentive staff, lovely terrace view for a glass of wine. Room was a nice size, but bathroom was quite small. We stayed with friends who had a much larger room with a great view- so be sure to ask for a room not facing the street. The hotel was willing to move us on the second night, as they were... More

As an alternative to Tuscany - due to price, amount of expected tourists and restrictions with time - we headed to Umbria. After a little searching we decided on Spello. So glad we not only chose Spello but also Cacciatore. Driving into town you see how amazing the old town is, like out of a fantasy movie. Sitting on a... More
