Not an average hotel - quite strange in layout. However, it did not detract from my stay - I thought the food was excellent (a limited choice, but it was good) and the pool was refreshing on a hot day. The car park doesn't look at all secure - fortunately I was able to park my vintage car on their... More

Belgian-American couple, highly pleased with room #18 - Aug 2014. Beautiful and ornate, very clean. Awesome jacuzzi tub, fluffy bathrobes, peaceful. Gorgeous well kept castle, everything immaculate. Pool lovely and refreshing. Will recommend to others! Monica & Mike

We booked in for one night, paying for B&B plus a gourmet meal. When we arrived we found that it was a barbecue night & no a la carte was available. One of our party had sent four emails to check our booking but having had no reply was told that his email address was incorrect. They were less than... More

We stayed here in July 2012 for 3 nights. The views on the hills around are great, the fresh air is wonderful. Breakfast was poor. They just brought us 2 types of French buns, butter, jam, fresh orange juice and croissant, but in a very limited number, less than the number of persons around the table. Probably they wanted to... At first I was confused, why the hotel's website shows a logo of "Small Luxury Hotels" but they can not be found on SLH website - because they were kicked out of it. And after my stay I know why. Pictures of hotel grounds looks very attractive. We like the idea of using old Farms and Palaces as a hotels... More

We had two excellent past experiences at this hotel. This time, we decided to spend two nights. This experience, unfortunately, was only very good. The first thing I have to say, in case the hotel staff actually reads this, is PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE GO BACK TO THE OTHER CHAIRS AT THE POOL! We used to LOVE the pool, lounging by... More

Thought we'd entered the middle ages, and all look very quaint including the rooms. A bit difficult when you are tall, but hey they were small in them middle ages :) Food was acceptable, the champagne strawberry apero was very nice. Breakfast was meager. But our main problem for the overnight stay was the car park, we felt it wasn't... More

This hotel is not for the traditional hotel chain customer. It is somewhat eccentric, with a mock medieval style to the rooms, many of which are accessed from the exterior of the hotel, motel style. The dining room has a window on to a small farmyard pen with sheep, goats and hens. These though are not available for consumption. The... More

We stayed here for 3 nights in August and it was very relaxing and rewarding. I would have like to stay longer. Being personally rather the difficult type when it comes to hospitality i was surprised by the mixed reviews the place gets. This is not the typical high-end resort, infinity pool kind of place. This is a rebuild old... More

In particular the Cote de Veau and the Crunchy Rabbit dish were excellent. We have been coming here for probably the last 20 years but this was the first time under the new management (since it had changed ownership). It still has the same charme but the food got even better.
