if you want a poor quality meal with COLD soup, substandard starters, main courses ie. Chickan Ceasar salad ( with no parmesan cheese ) that's a first!! then this is the place for you. A bonus that is provided by the Chef on sunday 14th June lunchtime- is they do not exchange food if you complain about poor cold food... more

FIrst visit to the hotel, for a 2 night stay, and unfortunately most likely the last. Location & hotel from outside is impressive but the deeper you go inside the quality decreases. The decor, receptionist and first impressions are very good however once I reached my room it was not to the standard I expected. It was rather dark, small... more

We were 4 adults and 1 kiddie and we stayed here for one night between Christmas and New Year to visit family in the area. We had 1 double room and 1 large family room. Impressive Victorian pile from the outside, built about 1880 for a wealthy sea captain and his family, and compared to other Best Westerns of similar... more

We stayed here for one night and found this hotel to be very relaxing and friendly. Although the restaurant was closed when we were there, we had an excellent bar meal which was more than we could manage. The bar staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Rooms were clean and cosy. The only faults were that... more

We had our wedding at the Cartland Bridge Lanark. It was perfect in every way. The staff did all the could to make it really special and all our guests loved every minute. When we booked the wedding the rooms were very tradional but they were modernised when the wedding came around. This was a wee bit dissapointed as we... more

Having stayed at the Cartland Bridge four times previously over the last eight years whilst en route to the highlands, we were looking forward to our two night stay at the hotel. After making the booking we were concerned to read some poor reviews regarding standards, and the effect of the take over by Best Western. However, after contacting the... more

The hotel itself was lovely, not such a great view though! My room was situated above the kitchens so was noisy at night and in the morning probably due to the extractor fans! The service was reasonable though it took a fair amount of time to be served in the morning. Another small problem was the noise created by the... more

Very clean and pleasant hotel. Only a shame we were there just for the night. Very accomodating at arranging an early check in. My one and only gripe was that the bed seemed small but this was not an issue more
