After much searching we found a perfect spot in Scotland to spend Christmas. We found this little gem. Tracy, the manager, could not have done enough for us. We stayed in The Ruin and the house was just perfect. The place was very well decorated and the furnishing were top quality. We had 2 Christmas trees waiting for us, one... More

We have just spent a week at the Ruin and it was fantastic. Bright and airy and very spacious. We were welcomed by Tracy who was brilliant, couldn't do enough for us always contactable if we needed her. The setting was very beautiful and peaceful. Close to all attractions within reach by a maximum 45 minutes. Local restaurants just 10... More

Another fabulous stay at Muirhall! I would recommend anybody looking to go to Scotland to consider staying here! Perfectly situated between both Edinburgh and Glasgow with the bonus of being in the countryside... We've stayed both times in The Ruin, which is perfect for families. Modern, spacious and so comfortable. Tracey is the most wonderful host and can't do enough... More

We stood 4 weeks in the Shire. From the first few it looks nice, but for such a long stay, the kitchen is definitly to small, no dishwasher, no barbeque, only a very small kitchenette. No towel change after 2 weeks, bed linen only after we asked for it. The special cook was not available. Beds are very small, for... More

I had the pleasure of staying here, in February for a week. I'm working away from home, and decided to bring family up for a week. Still working, however my wife and kids can up for the whole week, and had such an amazing time, playing on the farm, the cottages are deep in the countryside, but only 40 mins... More

Stayed here for a few nights in The Ruin (the larger of the cottages). The setting is simply breathtaking. So much attention to detail has been paid in the gardens and outdoor areas. And then you move into the interior of the cottage which is even better!! Perfect if you want to be in quality surroundings out in the countryside...... More

Just spent a beautiful week at The Ruin. Wow, what a fantastic cottage. Lovely decor inside and so bright and airy. Would not hesitate to recommend this accommodation for a peaceful holiday. Its pretty central for visiting Glasgow or Edinburgh, and for visiting the Kelpies at Falkirk ... Well worth a visit. The cottage felt very private and there is... More

Outstanding property and the folks were so nice I felt like I was back home. Traci was wonderfully helpful. Nicest place I've stayed in the UK. Very comfortable, roomy, well maintained. Remote and quiet, be sure to pickup groceries in advance. Note to American drivers: (1) buy the insurance for your rental car because you're going to bang into something... More
