This "youth hostel" hardly does it's name justice as it's more of a hotel than a youth hostel. The setting is absolutely beautiful on the banks of the Clyde River. Finding it can be a bit of a mission, but with most GPS / Satnav units listing it these days it will be a breeze. our rooms were super clean... More

Hi There, thanks for such a nice review. We will pass this onto the new owners. The Hostel is now called "Weerow" Hostel and is run by the New Lanark Trust but is still affiliated to SYHA, we have informed Trip Advisor of the change in property but will again. We have a good relationship with the hostel so we... More

We stayed here for the Commonweath Games. Accommodation is basic (but cheap!), the location is amazing, steeped in history. Warm welcome, we had breakfast each day which was good. The only small point was the the window in our room didn't open so it got pretty hot, other than that everything was ok. Really enjoyed our stay.

The hostel is located in one of the New Lanark buildings, part of the historic mill and workers' tennements. The hostel's main attraction is its good value for money and location. You can wander along the Clyde and to the falls at night when all the tourists are gone; there is a wildlife walk too. The self-catering kitchen is small... More

Basic accommodation in line with price, great cooked breakfast and rooms were fine, shower temperamental but no worse than some hotels ive stayed in! Never stayed in a youth hostel before and would definitely do it again for a budget stopover.

This hostel is off the beaten track but what a gem. iIt is in a world heritage site and al around are historic buildings. The staff are friendly and the place clean and comforatble. well worth a detour.

A very good hostel - they kept it open between normal hours for my arrival and were very helpful upon arriving there. The room was find and the next morning we were late departing but the man in charge did not mind and helped us to get everything sorted. I was planning on staying in a hotel for a wedding... More

Great staff, excellent location. Literally part of the world heritage site, set in the midst of beautiful landscape with rolling hills and a pretty river. Hostel is sweet and the staff member on duty, think his name was scott, was really helpful and a great cook. Nice one :)

We stayed for just 1 night in New Lanark. 2 days there is plenty of time to see everything at a relaxed pace. The hostel was in one of the old mill buildings which was amazing and at night it felt like you had the whole village to yourself. It did take a while to find the 1 member of... More

We really enjoyed staying at this hostel. The staff were great and went out of their way to help. The food was reasonable and there was plenty of it. The rooms were clean and tidy. Our beds were already made up which we have never found in English hostels and we even had en-suite which we don't often find in... More
