Spent 3 special days at Abercelyn House with Lindsay and Ray prior to returning to Australia. I was made very welcome travelling on my own. I can only say that the breakfast was outstanding-everthing fresh juice and eggs and home made including bread and jams. My spacious room was tastefully decorated with little clutter with a window seat to look... more

I have stayed in all 3 self catering cottages at Abercelyn many times, sometimes with my wife, sometimes with friends and one Christmas with family. On every occasion we have had an excellent break. The cottages are well equiped, clean, comfortable and cozy and are perfectly located for outdoor sports; Bala lake is a short walk away and the National... more

We stayed in the Arran room in the main house. We go away to B & B's about 10 times a year so are becoming something of an expert. Abercelyn House was perfect, our room was spacious and furnished to a high standard. Cleanliness was excellent - I couldn't fault it and I'm fussy! Lindsay the owner was the ideal... more

Great hospitality and friendliness. The rooms were large/ clean/ luxurious, food fantastic and we couldn't have been closer to Bala sailing club. Arrival with afternoon tea and homemade cake was such a nice touch. The breakfast was extremely comprehensive and used quality ingredients (their own free range eggs, freshly squeezed orange juice, etc)... loads of local info available (seemed more... more

We spent 2 nights here and wished we could have stayed longer. Our hosts Ray and Lindsay were friendly and welcoming, without being overbearing. Daughter Sam brought a fresh and enthusiastic attitude. All 3 went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Our room was very large and square with a large bathroom and a superking bed. All... more

We received a warm welcome, along with some delicious tea and cake so we felt instantly at home here and it continued that way. The breakfasts were very good, Lindsay and Ray looked after us extremely well during our short (alas) 3 night B&B stopover and we would love to return. The house is set in wonderful gardens in a... more

We are regular visitors to Abercelyn - its great for families and for long weekends away. We always stay in either Tithe Barn 1 or 2 - both are equal in terms of comfort and cosiness, whatever the weather! Everything is always spotlessly clean and in excellent condition - there's nothing we could fault! The hosts, Ray and Lindsay, do... more

Having stayed in the farmhouse for 3 days over Xmas I knew that t Tithe barn 1 would be excellent accommodation for a short break. I was not to be disappointed. It was spotlessly clean with all mod cons including dishwasher and washing machine. It has a high standard of furnishings and equipment. For paddlers there is a drying room... more

My wife and I have just come home from a long weekend staying in one of the barns offered as part of Abercelyn Country House, there are two self catering units alongside the B&B Country House. When we pulled up in the car (using excellent directions provided by the website) the first thing that grabs you is the scenery. The... more

We stayed at Abercelyn Country House for 2 nights while we had a training course. The location is beautifully quaint, metres from the lake front. It is all spotlessly clean and rooms have everything you could need. Lindsay and Ray were extremely hospitable from start to end. We were treated with Lindsay's fresh homemade cooking from breakfast, through to lovely... more
