After struggling to find a hotel for the weekend that didn't break the bank we stumbled across The Old Priory. On arrival we were met by the owner who was very inviting and we had a drink in the beautiful garden. The hotel is very quirky, low ceilings, twisted stairs and uneven floors - when you read about the interesting... More

We stayed at the Old Priory for two nights over a Bank holiday. The room was very clean and comfortable and the hosts were welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was good, with fresh fruit and toast, together with home made marmalade. The full English breakfast was good, although the portions were slightly smaller than elsewhere, but this was not an issue... More

As with many other reviews, I chose Old Priory from previous reviews. We were not disappointed when we arrived to a beautiful building and extremely warm, friendly welcome. Our host was waiting for us and took us immediately to our room (school room with four-poster bed) The room and bathroom were spacious, the bed comfortable with pristine white linen. Although... I chose the Old Priory Hotel from reviews on TripAdvisor, and I wasn’t disappointed. Months ago I had originally booked three nights at the hotel, but for various reasons including an issue with our car, it ended up that unfortunately we were only able to spend one night, Monday 28th October. Melody had been great with my emails in the... More

Myself and my partner stayed at the hotel Saturday 12th October and were pleasantly surprised. Josh found the hotel browsing the internet trying to find a hotel close to Bath for an overnight stay. Upon arrival we were greeted by a very sweet lady who showed us to our room. The room was fine, clean and full of character with... More

I must admit to have being a bit remiss, not penning a piece for TripAdvisor a little earlier, especially as I've become a regular guest of Melody and her husband at the Old Priory. If the name conjures up a sense of history, you'd be right. For it is a fine character property, but with suitably modern facilities in the... More

This hotel is 'fine', but overpriced for what you get. Being that it is a very old building one can expect a few creaks and groans, however you could hear all that was going on in the room next door, complete with snoring, and also very footstep and door close of the room above. People walking up to their rooms... More

As many other reviews have pointed out this is an old creaky house-but we found the walls to be paper thin so when a drunk guest came up the stairs to go to bed he woke our sleeping baby. There's nothing that can really be done about this but you should be warned that if you're a light sleeper this... More

Lovely character building with beautiful gardens. Big, comfortable room but decor a little tired. Owner went out of her way to be helpful and accommodating. Best breakfast in a very long time. Hotel has a good car park right outside and only 2 minutes walk from town centre.

My previous experience of Midsomer Norton wasn’t great. I tried to go out with a friend there one night and the couple of pubs we ventured into weren’t exactly the most welcoming of places. The Old Priory could be a million miles away from all that. We visited for my partner’s 50th and I was completely made up that we... More
