Called in over the weekend.. it was a lovely warm, Christmasy atmosphere in the lounge area. Watched the last half of the rugby in there. We were with family and were all hungry. We havent eaten in there since early in the year after a bad experience with the food so have been going elsewhere. However we thought we would... More

We decided to pop in the Porthcawl Hotel for a coffee on a cold Sunday Lunchtime. It was very quiet considering the time of day,we can see why now. We ordered two Lattes and a 'Platter to share'. The rather small Lattes appeared and were warm rather than hot. Twenty minutes later the platter arrived from Iceland. That was the... More

Where do I start... stayed here for work over a weekend, not out of choice but as the company chose this hotel as it was relatively cheap and cheap it certainly was! Rooms are very dated and basic with old school miniature box tvs with 1 channel available, the beds are like sleeping on crushed concrete, the bathrooms are carpeted... More

Had lunch here on a Sunday , the place was heaving but I don't know why. Meals were expensive with small portions, I had hunters chicken and it was tough and a bit tasteless, I always eat this dish in most places I go so feel a bit gutted when a simple dish is not cooked to its best. Won't... More

We arrived in town with no accommodation. Another hotel suggested trying here as it was In our price range. Paid for room before I saw it. Climbing the stairs was bad enough it was like a rabbit warren all over the place. Bed not made up had to go all the way downstairs again to ask for linen. We were... More

I stayed for two nights in this hotel as it was the best deal on Late-rooms.com. So the positives, the staff were all very friendly, the room itself was clean and the breakfast was more than adequate. Negatives, the place is quite run down and very dated, it's in desperate need of a refurb, the carpets in the room were... More

The room was clean but very basic, no bedside light, no mirror in the bathroom and only a small 12 inch mirror in the room. The view was of a rusty storage container and broken pallets. The breakfast was good but the price was very expensive £70.00 for b&b for the 2 of us. There is no parking with the... More
