Stayed for one night on a business trip. Really lovely food and friendly if somewhat disorganised staff. My room (9) was clean and spacious enough but was situated above the bar. REALLY noisy (felt I could have joined in the conversations) until about 11.30 and then the music stayed on until nearly 12. If you're happy to stay in the... More

Myself, my partner and 10 year old son stayed here for one night whilst visiting PorthCawl. The rose and crown is a lovely hidden gem in an idyllic little village only a short drive from PorthCawl town centre. We stayed in a family room which was big enough for 3 of us and very clean and tidy Situated at the... More

Had another lovely stay, the staff are great, friendly helpful and the food is good, the rooms are nice and the whole pub is clean, can't fault it, only problem was the shower in room 1, couldn't get cold water with hot, nearly took my skin off. Would recommend this pub

I arrived around 7pm after working a 13 hour shift to be ignored by arrogant bar staff. When I asked about food the bar woman went and got me a menu with the poshest crud I've seen, "truffle oil mash" "aubergine and harissa cous cous". Way over priced rubbish. After a hard days work you want a decent meal not... More

My partner and I have stayed at The Rose and Crown three times, our first visit we had room 9 which was a beautiful room, plenty of space, huge bathroom and lovely view. We've since had two different smaller rooms, both rather unremarkable and could do with a fresh lick of paint instead of the patch jobs that have clearly... More

Drove past on the way to Kenfig Nature Reserve so seemed appropriate for lunch. Nice spot in the middle of the pretty village of Nottage. Warm and friendly staff, an interesting mix of traditional and modern fare, opted for panko coated calamari, grilled sardines, Thai chicken cakes which were excellent followed by smoked mackerel, back bacon, soft boiled egg &... Stayed for the 2nd time, this time for a Birthday & Anniversary treat. We were allocated the same room as on our last vist (room 3 ). Room was lovely & clean and was plenty big enough for our 1 night stay. We ate in the restaurant in the evening which was very busy, despite being understaffed, the staff that... More
