I cannot speak strongly enough about this hotel. I only stayed for one night, but so wish it had been for several more. An absolute joy to behold on the West Coast of Scotland, near to Oban. I will most certainly be returning to the Pierhouse - the Nephrops norvegicus (more commonly known as langoustines) were excellent as a starter,... More

We thought we were in for a treat instead we found some of the worst service we have ever had, not rude as such but just ignored. Our food arrived but that was the only attention we were given, previous customers plates had been left on our table, no apology, we cleared them ourselves. No 'is your meal ok?' Or... More

Having previously stayed in an award winning hotel nearby which we had enjoyed, we thought we would try this hotel because of its superb location right at the pier, and we were not disappointed. With a spacious room overlooking the pier, the location was idyllic, and the seafood menu as comprehensive as I have seen,-because of course the restaurant is... More

It's a narrow, fast and windy road from Fort William to Port Appin, and you think you will never get there, but this place makes it worth it. The welcome you get is genuine and warm, the rooms are modern, simple and comfortable, and food is very good. Most importantly, you get to change gears, just by gazing out on... More

This is a lovely small hotel in an amazing position, with wonderful views of the island of Lismore and other hills etc. Our room was very comfortable with a luxurious bathroom. High quality furniture with loads of drawers and hanging space. Our two evening meals were excellent (incl lobster) and it was good service. I should also say - if... More

Quite a nice clean place with VERY accommodating personnel. We had car trouble and did not arrive until 10:30 P.M. The bartender went into the kitchen to see what he could find and fixed a very nice cheese plate for us as we had had no dinner and the kitchen had closed. Our room was in the back which worked... This place is a travellers's dream come true. A dreamy location right on the beach with glorious wild sunsets. A comfortable and welcoming bar which is patronised by locals...I'm not surprised! An excellent bar menu for dinner and superb ( very treaty) restaurant. We enjoyed both. The staff were charming and couldn't do enough for you. Blissfully comfortable, scrupulously clean... More

My wife and I stayed 3 nights at the Pierhouse in April this year, After travelling around Ireland and Scotland during the month we both felt very at home at The Pierhouse to come and go as we pleased. Catherine went over and above with any of our silly requests from booking tours to serving our meals she is a... More

Flawless stay - perfect in every way, including even the weather! Highly recommend this place. Lovely rooms, truly exceptional views, outstanding customer service, and the food.........! Large party of us booked 5 rooms for a surprise birthday stay - the hotel team couldn't have been more helpful right from the booking stage - got the feeling nothing would have been... More

We ate at this beautiful spot last year and promised ourselves a return trip with an overnight stay. We booked a sea view room and didn't regret this. Our bed was enormous and we had the best nights sleep! Our meal was superb and breakfast too. We hope to make this an annual event!!!
