The guest house is all right if you just need a roof and a bed. Food at the restaurant was a disappointment and the prizes are sky high on beverages. The area however is magnificent and the coastline is something you should not miss. Cliffs are overcrowded with birds in spring and summer. Beautiful cliff formations. From the guest house... More

There were 7 of us--2 grandparents, 2 parents and 3 kids ages 3,5,&7 Following our Glacier Tour to the top of Snefellsjokull we were hungry The Snjofell really exceeded our expectation Soup salad fish burgers fries desserts coffee/specialities were all outstanding Our meal was the icing upon a wonderful day The facilities were clean and the Waite staff friendly and... The rooms are fine but not quite clean and there's a great walk along the coast. The service at the Guesthouse was unfortunately to some extent not very friendly. Truly a pity for such a beautiful place.

Room was small but adequate but the shared bathroom/toilet could be problematic if all the rooms had been occupied. The restaurant next door provided us with a nice evening meal and an excellent breakfast but the small bottle of Gull beer (330 ml) was the most expensive during our whole 8 day touring trip! But the location was its biggest... More

There isn't a whole lot of lodging options out by Hellnar so we ended up at Guesthouse Snjofell. It was OK - the rooms were clean and we had the basic amenities. We ended up with a room right next to the entry door on the first floor so we were able to 'enjoy' the door slamming and people loudly... More

Stayed there for one night, about £95 per room plus £10 for breakfast (cereal, limited fruit, bread, jams, cheese, meat). Our room was small. Warm. Comfy bed (despite loads of holes in the sheets...looked very warn out and I would expect better at this price) We had a shared bathroom and loo which was downstairs and caused some pretty long... This place is an iconic Icelandic picture with its "grassy" roof. Take a walk to the water and get blown away (literally and figuratively) by the ocean views. The picture from Hellnar are some of our favorites. The room was adequate, but be aware that six to seven rooms share a bathroom. Not a problem, but could possibly lead to... More

I am honestly surprised by the negative reviews below. My girlfriend and I stayed at Guesthouse Snjofell in August, 2013 while visiting Iceland. The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable, and we never had any problems with the staff or waiting in lines for the bathroom. The price we were charged was more than reasonable, about $100 USD for the... More

Worse place we stayed at during our two weeks in Iceland (and we practically slept in a different place every night). Very, very expensive for the little you get: the rooms do not have anything to do with the nice looking pictures they use for promotion. Maybe there is a room like that, but for sure there are many that... More

Our room in the shared bathroom section was large and lit up - too lit up for comfort, when the sun hardly sets down... Something about this place was not as hospitable as in other places we stayed in, in Iceland. The staff was polite but not very friendly and looked rather tired. The shower curtain was inefficient and the... More
