I arrived on a motorcycle out of the blue and Eric took me in despite being officially closed. He made me welcome and introduced me to everybody, giving me the inside track on all things Hesdinois (not sure if that's a word!) The traditional hotel was clean and comfy and I felt properly looked after. Eric even found me somewhere... More

Only stayed for one night, however, Eric's hospitality was excellent. The room was nice, and the shower was excellent which was very welcome after a long drive. Breakfast in the morning was lovely, and Eric was always on hand to top up the coffee! A great little place and thoroughly recommended. Thanks Eric for making us feel very welcome.

My wife and I visited Hesdin for the first time to do some bike riding in the hilly 7 vallees area and wanted a central B&B in a town with a variety of restaurants. La Chope ticks all these boxes. Eric the English patron was very helpful at every stage of our stay and provided a simple but filling and... More

We stayed with two other couples for four nights and were made to feel very much at home by Eric, the host. The bedrooms are small but comfortable. No tea or coffee in the rooms, but you can go down in the morning and get a tray of tea to take up to the room. Downstairs there is a nice... More

We stayed here for one night at Easter and from the moment we made the initial enquiry nothing was too much trouble for Eric. We arrived during an informal jamming session and were welcomed by Eric and some of the locals. Small friendly and clean hotel in the heart of the town and at a good rate, well worth a... More

The owners are very friendly and helpful and make you feel at home straight away. The rooms are clean, well appointed and the beds are comfy. If you fancy some quiet time there is large selection of English books and games in the library or if you fancy socializing the atmosphere in the bar is very welcoming and friendly. I... More

I didn't actually stay here, but utilised the hotel when passing through Hesdin during my London to Paris bike ride. Hesdin (like most small French towns on my trip) is a sleepy town in the afternoon but surrounded by many interesting places. Eric was most hospitable and extended himself above what I would expect any other hotel to do. The... More

Nothing was too much trouble at this 4 roomed hotel run by the lovely Eric and Katie. The room was light, clean, airy and had none of that same old basic functionality feel you get in so many hotels these days. Highly recommended to family and friends so far.

Friendly English couple running the hotel. Nothing is too much trouble. I would have no hesitations in going back. The hotel is well looked after, as are the guests. If your looking for the personal touch then you will not be disappointed. Very child friendly too.

Sorry to say a sad looking hotel from the outside and no improvement inside.Arrived to check in to find a notice on the door "Back in two hours" Chairs still on tables when we were let in at 4.30pm.The beige carpet had seen many better days and the whole place had a stale smoke smell. No TV in the room... More
