Perhaps the fairest way to evaluate the Chateau D'Archambault is as an upper-end "chambre d'hote" rather than as a B&B still trying to find itself. The courtesy and friendliness with which we were welcomed in our one-night stay were of the finest -- little touches such as an invitation into the office as the only dependable Wi-Fi spot, or the... We only had one night here but it was a lovely spot to be in. Close to a little village with lots of interesting things to see. The rooms are large and the decor is very smart. The breakfast are wonderful.

This 'chateau' was apparently at one time owned by someone closely associated with Napoleon III. In any case, it's in a beautiful part of France, and ideal for people who want to explore the Burgundy countryside. Mind you, there's not much around, but there a tiny, classic French villages to explore, beautiful bike rides to be had, and of course--... More
