Spent 2 nights in the hotel on the weekend. We read on the net that dinner is served until 20:00 but we arrived later and the waiters were extremely nice and we had dinner at 20:30 it was not a problem. The breakfast staff were not very attentive. Our room was normal size (25 sqm) with a big and nice... More

Spent 6 days in this lovely hotel, set in the small village of Ettal, opposite the enormous Benedictine Monastery. Single room one of the best I have encountered. Food good and plentiful. Staff friendly. Lovely swimming pool and jacuzzi - also a spa but didn't use that. Next door to the hotel there is a well-stocked gift shop run by... More

We were there for one night to see the Basilica. Due to the traffic, we were there very late, thus can't have dinner there. If you arrive after 19:30, the dinner will be cleaned already. We did call ahead to tell them about the late arrival, the reception warned us that it would be difficult to find a place to... More

I spent two nights here on my rouind trip in Bavaria. The hotel is nice, but nothing special. I had an excellent room with mountain view. Breakfast is good, and so is dinner if you choose to have it on the hotel. It is an excellent base for a trip to Neuschwanstein (45 min dirve). There is no wifi in... More

We got a nice last-minute deal on this hotel. The hotel is right opposite the abbey (not that other hotels are much further from it - it's a small village...) Our (corner) room was large, bright and pleasant, with a view of the mountains. The hotel facilities are quite impressive, with a swimming pool, gym, sauna, etc. On the downside,... More

Hotel Ludwig von Bayer is a perfect hotel for an overnight stay if you avoid the autobahn around Munich. The rooms are spacious, very clean and quiet. The hotel offers a perfect breakfast to get you going. Also the restaurant offers good value meals for dinner and lunch. Staff is very friendly and helpful. So all in all worthwhile to... More

I am a travel designer from America and I brought a second group to stay 3 nights at Klosterhotel Ludwig der Bayer in late April/early May. This hotel is a very special place. Full of charm and lovely people who go out of their way to make their guests feel welcome and at home. My group members all loved staying... More

We stayed in two apartments in the separate building at the rear of the hotel which were excellent value. There’s covered access to the annex via the lower ground floor along beside the swimming pool/spa complex and then up a staircase or you can drive your car around the back to the other building. The apartments were very spacious and... More

Went for a wedding in the church across the street. This hotel is absolutely charming! Every need was met, food excellent and the service amazing. Peaceful area all around. We lived in this hotel during 4 days. We stood in apartments on the last floor. It was very nice: with good kitchen and wonderful view to the mountains. The place is very nice, but it is only for a relax and plesant stay. There are no entertainments. If want to ask a massage do it before your stay, because... More
