the only good point of this hotel is that the lady at the reception is very nice, which is quite rare all over Croatia. other than that, the hotel is very bad, and unfortunately you don't have much choice if you want to visit the outstanding plitvice lakes. rooms are very basic, as well as bathrooms, no wifi in the... At the front desk, girl told us that hotel can not give us anything to eat because they are overbooked for the day and don't have a'la card menu and directed us... More

We stayed here on a Croatia bus tour for our Plitvice tour. There aren't a lot of hotels in the area to begin with, so until this area develops further, I think a lot of the hotels will be of this caliber. This is an interesting hotel. The decor is on the weird and colorful side, but in general it... More

This three star hotel is very standard and average. Nothing special but utilitarian. I found it quiet and a bit institutional, as the walls in the rooms are green and completely bear (no pictures, nothing). Notwithstanding our room had a view of the mountains which we could see from the large but completely bare balcony. The dinner was average and... More

I haven't stayed at the Macola Hotel but I had lunch in the restaurant of the Motel Zir on the A1 highway which has the same owner as the Macola Hotel. The restaurant is decorated in the local mountain style which I didn't like. I had lunch in the self-service restaurant. The cashier in the restaurant was so rude that... More

We were sent to Hotel Macola by our agent, at the reception they sent us to Motel Zir which is also owned by Macola down the road. The place parking had awful smell. We got 3 rooms for our family (parents + 5 kids) in separate floors. Not recommended.

Seventeen kilometres from park. Miserable staff. I edible breakfast. Coffee? I don't think so. Do not bring a cat, there is no room to swing it. No air con, so no sleep, unless you open the window and can sleep through the sound of the niightclub... Which is always fighting a losing battle with the traffic. On the up side...... More

Nice enough clean room with usual OK facilities for 2*/ 3*.This was our hotel for wonderful Plivice lakes visit, part of Atlas 'Highlights of Croatia' tour. No aircon in our room which on a hot night was uncomfortable without an open window. Very annoying football revellers opposite in a roadside cafe in this quiet village celebrated noisily well into the... More
