We attended a Charcuterie course in mid-August. Everthing about our stay was excellent, starting with the fantastic welcome from Vikki and David - we felt at home. The course itself, which takes place in two locations, the Chambres d'Hotes and the village's auberge, was really interesting, challenging, eye-opening and enjoyable. David and Bernard put so much into organising the course,... More

As other reviewers have noted, this is an outstanding experience from beginning to end. Vikki and David are outstanding, warm and friendly hosts and their property is meticulously and beautifully maintained. There is a terrace where breakfast and many meals are served which has a breathtaking view. The location is gorgeous and although it is in a rural part of... More

I cannot speak highly enough about our time in Gramont at the Gascony cookery school. My daughter and I did David and Bernard's four day course and it was just magic. David and Vikki made us feel like part of the village and we just loved everything about this very special experience. Both of us are already plotting when we... More

You can't possibly ask for more if your interests are French cooking in the heart of the French bread-basket. David - the English professionally trained chef who cooks at his house- is marvelous and very meticulous about his trade and quite helpful with the students both experienced and not. His partner, Bernard - the French chef who cooks at his... More

I have just spent a week at this outstanding cookery school with David, Vikki and Bernard The location in Gramont, with its panoramic views really is exceptional. David and Bernard are not only very skilled but very patient and explain every stage in a way that is easily understood. David and Vikki are wonderful hosts, nothing is too much trouble.... More

Take two perfect hosts David and Vikki, mix with one brilliant Frenchman and chef called Bernard, one smiling gorgeous German waitress called Urma (apologies if I've spelt her name incorrectly), plus Mike and Sue their fabulous friends who own an awesome Mill house; who also come to dinner then add Dick - their Dutch neighbour - who taxi's you to... I visited the cookery school in the summer of 2013 (and shamefully have only just got round to writing the review!). This was, quite simply, the best holiday I've ever been on. David and Vikki were incredibly hospitable, my room was beautiful, and the location was idyllic. Each lesson was fun and memorable. I still regularly cook many of the... More

I've run out of superlatives: Gramont already feels like a second home, so welcoming are David, Vikki and Bernard (and everyone else in the village, I must admit). The "Returners" course is extremely well judged, and builds on the things we learned before, teaching new skills and honing those we already had. The time just flew by; on the evening... More

My daughter surprised me with a trip to the cookery school for my birthday, we arrived a little later than expected and was greeted with warmth and a 'no dress code here, drinks waiting for you on the terrace'. What a great way to start! We thoroughly enjoyed the cooking with David and Bernard and will certainly be putting in... More

Just back from a week at the Gascony Cooking School. As a returning pupil, it was a delight to spend some more time in the lovely village and learn some more great recipes. The atmosphere was relaxed and the cooking and teaching was fabulous. I learnt so much more and I will be practicing everything back home. Thanks to David,... More
