One night stay much enjoyed. No lift to our room so had to carry bags up the stairs. One has the impression this hotel is busy in the summer but runs with a skeleton staff in the shoulder seasons. Having purchased some interesting wines (and not wanting to carry them up to many more flights of stairs) we took our... More

We stayed at the Hotel/Restaurant du Chateau in Combourg as part of a bike tour and we were absolutely delighted. Room 010 was situated at the back of the hotel and was very quiet. Three-course meal offered was from a 24 EUR set menu and we could not have been more satisfied -- Michelin, Relais & Chateau quality. At the... More

My husband and i have stayed at this hotel twice and both times have been very happy. The rooms are spacious and clean and the hotel is in good walking distance to shops and restaurants in Combourg. There is a small bar in the hotel which was nice and the breakfast was fantastic. I would definitely stay again! Wifi was... More

Our first room in main hotel left much to be desired in terms of noise level so we got a room in the back garden area which I highly recommend. It was spacious, quiet and more up-to-date. The meal (part of our package) in the dining room was outstanding.

Stayed here in early July with another couple for 1 night on route back from Spain. No issues at all with the location, nice countryside and in a small town where one could get a nice cup of tea from a bar in the town square. The hotel was booked via the internet from the pictures and description supplied, so... More

We recently stayed at this hotel for a weekend break. First impressions on arrival were good, the receptionist spoke very good English. Our bedroom was quite small and a little old fashioned but it is an old hotel so this is what you should expect. The room was spotlessly clean. There was a TV and a mini bar in the... More

The restauraunt is exceptional the service does not equal the talents of the Chef which is a shame. The hotel is becoming shabby and in need of a refurbishment. The location is very good with Combourg and the Chateau close within 2 minutes walk of the hotel. It is expensive for what is on offer in the rooms, the cleaning... More

The hotel sits just below the castle and across the road from the lake so some lovely views. Room maybe needed an up-date but was large, clean and comfortable [no a/c but two opening windows] Staff were very friendlyand helpful. Superb food [but limited to shell fish/fish/rare beef or rabbit] Lovely gardens to relax in and a very nice breakfast... More

We were hoping that this hotel would serve as a base for the three days we were spending in Brittany and lower Normandy and it met that goal and then some. Rooms were not luxe in the style of say the Georges V in Paris but were clean and ours had a new renovated bathroom. Only issue was no a/c... More

Just stayed for one night. Family Room (19) was large and very clean but nothing special for the price. Staff very friendly and helpful. Restaurant made our kids welcome. The superb evening meal more than made up for the room however. Menu plasir at 38 €. Innovative and unusual dishes and uniformly superb. The lobster ball and St Pierre stood... More
