My wife and I visited Usk earlier in the year for the day with a view to visiting the Cross Keys Inn for lunch. The reason being that as a child, my father used to bring us here fairly regularly from Cardiff for Sunday Lunch. On that particular day, we stopped in for a drink and then went for a... More

The room is nice, but this is by far the loudest accommodation I have ever had. Our room is right over the pub- it feels like we're sharing a room with 50 people. The walls are paper thin, so we can also hear everything going on in the rooms next to us. Stay somewhere else if you want some quiet.... More

We went in (Saturday 12 October) because they were advertising evening meals. We ordered three beers, one "Bob" two Moorlands "Speckled Hen". But when we asked at the bar for food they told us that they weren't serving food. We enjoyed the beer in front of the blazing log fire, but left because we really needed some food.

We had a very pleasant 2 night stay in this pub. The pub is very old and full of character and the staff friendly and very welcoming. Our room was spacious with a flatscreen TV and leather settee. However, not all the rooms are the same size. The rooms was full of character with beams and charming stonework on the... More

This is a regular call in for lunch for us when we are walking in the Usk area. We have the £5 pensioner's menu for 2 courses, and it is extremely good! Recommended. The staff are always very friendly and helpful and the service is fast. The price of drinks is very reasonable and the atmosphere in the old coaching... More

Stayed here for 2 nights recently and was impressed by the very clean room and en-suite shower. The weather was very warm so it was a great comfort to have a good fan in the room. The room overlooked the road so was a bit noisy on the Friday night - but then I am used to having no sound... More

We made a detour to Usk on our way to Cardiff and popped in to the Cross Keys for a late Saturday lunch (Lunch is served until 2.30 p.m.). As it was a sunny day we sat in the garden at the rear of the pub. Lovely friendly welcome and there is a two course lunch menu available for £5... More
