Stayed here for a nearby wedding. Didn't see an awful lot of the pub but what we did see would persuade us to return. Excellent ale on tap and mighty fine room, with a bed so comfortable I didn't want to get out of it. It's a very pretty, clean and well kept old building right in the middle of... More

Having stayed in the Cross Keys for about 3 months, I can say that it really is a home from home. The rooms are not ostentatious, but are functional and very well kept. The food is old fashioned pub grub and the corned beef hash has got to be tried. The beer is very well kept: the landlord really takes... More

Good location on Bridge Street, with its own car park. Welcoming lounge bar with log fire and real ale! Rooms clean and tidy with everything you need. Great freshly cooked breakfast. Reasonable value.

We arrived on Friday 20th,money to find that our reservation with booking.com had not been forwarded through to the owners. However, fortunately we were able to be accommodated. The rooms were clean and tidy, but extremely small, with basic amenities. The bed, a double, was a little uncomfortable and every time you moved, creaked and groaned. The room was very... More

Great value for a very comfortable room. Good selection of bar food for an evening meal and for business users the wifi does work!! Unlike the more clinical atmosphere of TL and larger hotels you can always enjoy some good bartime chat, and if sports are your thing they have full Sky etc which is available without being obtrusive. This... More

Going to the Rugby World Cup, we were fortunate to find this friendly pub in the centre of town with walks nearby along the river Usk, in the evenings it is enlivened by locals giving this Pub (it dates back to the 13th century) a warm friendly atmosphere. It is in my view excellent value with breakfast included cooked to... More

My room #5 was small, not a problem. But the bathroom had a sewage ejector pump behind the toilet that stunk. I suspect it was not plumbed correctly, lacking proper venting. I put the cap on an opening in the top, hoping to stop the stench, but it just popped off later. Without a window or exhayst fa in the... More

Very welcoming atmosphere created by Nicola and Brian made my few days stay feel like I was part of the family. Had wonderful hours spent drinking large cups of tea following huge breakfasts with buffet style cereals, fruit, yoghurts etc. and a traditional 'Full English' (bacon, eggs, baked beans, tomatoes, black pudding, mushrooms, fried bread, toast, jams and marmalade). Rooms... More
