2 weeks ago we joined our friends from Cornwall for our 7th stay at a Sawday 'go slow' venue, namely Allt-y-bela. The previous 6 venues have each been exceptional. The weather was not good and it was muddy but this was a lovely stay in a gorgeous orange house - lots of beams, old furniture and nooks and crannies - and one of the loveliest gardens I've ever seen. My wife booked the accommodation about 3 months ago. A week before our arrival, we asked the owner in an email if there was anyone else staying at the house and if we were able to use the cooking facilities. An amazingly restored medieval house at end of country lane, painted in a stunning ochre which works well against the greens of the topiary. Old furniture casually and artfully displayed in a series of rooms, quite dark inside with multitude of beams in first storey.
