After reading an article on things to do in Salina, I saw that Pollara was the place to be at sunset & this was the place to stay... And it didn't disappoint. Our room had a touch of the Moroccan to it, with tiled benches outside & a hammock swinging from the rafters. We watched the sun go down with... More

Amelia and Mauro are the most gracious hosts and the restaurant they run is simply great. The locanda itself is so beautiful set in the village of Pollara, a magical place where Il Postino was filmed. We stayed for four days and had starry night dinners on their terrace. Amelia's plates are excellent and the ingredients are so fresh. Fish... More

I just returned from a 10 day Sicily trip with two friends and we spent 3 nights at La Locanda del Postino. The entire Salina experience was wonderful. Not only is the location beautiful and close to the bus to explore other parts of the island, but the room was clean, food was delicious, and Amelia was very helpful. Amelia... More

We had 11 weeks holiday traveling around Italy and this place was definitely a highlight. Quiet and laid-back the town of Pollara is a sleepy town. A perfect base from which to explore the lovely island of Salina either on foot or by scooter. Amelia was the most charming and warm hostess you could ask for and we were quite... More

My wife and I enjoyed a perfect 2 night stay at this wonderful little hotel. We had a very nice room with a huge terrace to take in the panoramic views. The location is stunning (Il Postino was filmed here) and the owner (Mauro) was absolutely fantastic and incredibly generous. The weather wasn't great so Mauro very kindly gave us... More

The owner/manager drove 20 km to meet us at the ferry harbor, brought us to the hotel in Pollara, a small village high above the seaside cliffs. Very friendly and efficient welcome. We could choose a first floor room, large, well furnished, with fully equipped bathroom, and opening onto a huge terrace with a stunning view. The ground floor rooms... More

Salina is part of the Aelonian Islands and is very mountainous. It has 4 towns of any size. We visited 3 of them. The beaches if you can call them that are all rocky on one side of the Island. We understand the other side has a sandy beach but we did not visit it because we understood the roads... More
