In response to the management's reply to my wife's feedback on the incident of my missing Oakley sunglasses, I must emphasise again that I'm absolutely sure that it has been left in the first room. As mentioned in her comments, we had a photo to show that the sunglasses was left on the coffee table and I did not take... More

We stayed 2 nights from 31 Dec to 2 Jan in a 2-level Tibetan suite, supposedly requested for a room facing the valley. The first room we checked in was indeed facing the valley but the main heater was not working. For a weather at as low as -10°C at night, we definitely need adequate heating in the room. Although... Dear valued guest Thank you for taking the time to share your constructive feedback, which we take seriously based on your experience at the Banyan Tree Ringha. Having truly enjoyed our stay in Banyan Tree in Lijiang, my wife and I were really looking forward to a nice stay in Banyan Tree Ringha in Shangri-La. The hotel prides itself in the design of the facility and how it adapted the local living and Tibetan culture into the villa construction. I would submit the design is indeed unique... More

I recently visited Shangri-La in Yunnan Province (once part of Tibet) and stayed at the Banyan Tree Ringha, in a small village 30 minutes drive from Shangri-La city). The hotel is situated in an extremely small, traditional Tibetan village, surrounded by mountains. The hotel is made up of old Tibetan farmhouses that had been discarded but have been reused to... This is not your usual hotel. It has something very magical about it ... the people! The accommodation itself is made up of recycled Tibetan farmhouses. They are beautifully equipped with traditional Tibetan carpets everywhere as well as as mixture of modern and traditional furnishings with the biggest wooden bathtub I've ever seen. The staff couldn't have been more helpful,... More

Actually there is no hotel or resort at similar class in the county. Banyan tree is definitely the best choice. Of course, just like some of the reviews said the location is far away from downtown, not much facility inside the resort and expensive. Yes, all of these observations are somewhat true and correct. BUT, ask yourself, what are you... More

Before my trip, i was very much excited to stay at this Banyan Tree hotel, having had a great experience at their Ungasan, Bali hotel. Upon arrival in the hotel grounds, I had issues right away looking for the lobby and finding a staff in the hotel grounds proved to be difficult. Once we did find the lobby, there were... More

We went to the ringha for a few days whilst we were in Lijiang. We wanted to get a Tibetan experience without the trouble of paperwork for Tibet. Firstly the good parts: 1. The rooms are incredible, even the most basic one is the largest room you will ever stay in, they are an entire authentic 2 storyTibetan house and... More

Many guests have said enough about the location of this banyan tree. It is restored from a remote Tibetan village around ten years (or maybe more ) ago. Nothing has been renovated for the past ten years, it has old and super dirty rugs, broken shower heads and clogged toilet. Very badly maintained ground with no landscape. I'm writing this... More

We visited there at Autumn,2012. The hotel is located at a beautiful valley. Upon arrived; the staff already impressived me by greeting my name. The GM of the hotel was a friendly and very hospitality lady. After they heard me and my boy friend were coming to take pictures, they lenned us their tranditional tibeten clothes. All the tibet people... More
