We arrived in ShangriLa and were surprised that the first few guesthouses we looked at were charging prices greatly in excess of what was listed in the guide books and tripadvisor. Whilst nothing special, the Noah/Olive Inn prices were reasonable. For 120 yuan, we got a big room, hot shower and great location in town. The staff are fairly non-existent,... More

Reading from the reviews of the Olive as the Noah Inn, it seemed like a pretty good place to stay. The price was abit higher than other hotels, but it seemed like a good idea. Boy were we wrong. I've been to a lot of hotels/hostels in China, even drabby ones maybe even less appealing than the prison rooms in... More

A unexpected treat in a good location. Great choice of food, good beer, Internet access and very comfortable surroundings. Friendly locals (including the cat, who would curl up on your lap if she got too hot sleeping next to the fire). We had Snacks during the day and evening meal and all were excellent. Recommend a visit. Can't comment on... More

We stayed at the Noah Inn for 5 nights in august. The double room with bathroom, was nice and spacious. .Sometimes the rooms were a bit smelly, but we heart that most guesthouse in S L had the same problem. The room was cleaned every day. The hostel is in a very good location, in the Old Town but not... More

We stayed at the Noah Inn for 3 nights at the end of July. The room, a double room ensuite, was nice but unfortunately slightly damp. It was cleaned every day though and we were provided with towels and an electric blanket. There was hot water every day which we heard isn't always the case in Shangri-la. The hostel is... More

We stayed here for 6 nights and loved it. Noah's Inn (now called The Olive), is really centrally located in the Old Town, yet far enough away from the two squares that noise from the nightly dancing was not a problem. The rooms were clean and comfortable, if a little cold at times, but the electric blanket on the bed... More

The Noah Cafe and Inn is located centrally in the old city of Zhongdian (Now better known as Shangri La). The hotel itself is comfortable, but the best part of this hotel were the staff. As well as being friendly, and with a basic knowledge of English, they were really helpful with all requests. For example, we were looking for... More

I did a 4 day stopover in Shangri-la when I was backpacking through Yunnan. It was a pleasant surprise to find western and mexican food at Noah Cafe for an extremely affordable prices(20-35rmb, USD 3-6 per dish). The portions were generous (a little too much for me tho) and the the food pretty authentic. The owner was a lady from... More
