We stayed 2 nights at The Home Tibetan Home in September. This is a very nice guest house, beautifully decorated and just a short walk from the centre of town. Our host, Hazel really made us feel welcomed. I do not hesitate to recommend this place.

We immediately felt at home in this small and unique guesthouse. We stayed in the suite with the fireplace and the great wooden Tibetan furnitures making the place warm and out of time. A lot of attention is brought to decoration. Hazel is a perfect hostess, speaking good English. The breakfast was good too. Note: the house is not in... More

Clean, well furnished, this is a great place to discover Shangri-La. The suite is worth the price as it is spatious and has an antique Tibetan flavor. It has a small room attached to it making it perfect for 3 people. You will feel at home. Great sleep quality in this quiet environment. Food is great and absolutely worth dining... More

My stay featured a number of additional amenities, including ginger tea and cookies in the evening. Hazel also supports local artisans, e.g. the Tibet Artisan Initiative and the Shangrila Farms organic agriculture project. She also has the most agreeable Golden Retriever - the only dog of its kind I saw in 3 weeks of visiting China. Cleanliness is superb, hospitality... More

This is a beautiful, homey option in Shangrila. Hazel has renovated the rooms by adding larger windows and modern bathrooms while also restoring the old structure's beautiful old rooms. The cats, goose, and dogs are all also quite wonderful. She is also a great guide with advice for what to do in town.

One of the best accomodation and experience we had throughout Yunnan ! A short distance from Zhongdiang old town, this peacefull and quiet place in a traditional 2-storeys Tibetan house, is owned by Hazel who is wonderful at making you feel like at home. She will try her best to fulfill your expectations (changing pillows for softer ones, special requests... More
