We have just returned from a weeks stay half board. The apartments have a very authentic greek feel to them. Very comfortable and clean but nothing posh about them. The complex is built on a very steep hill with many steps to climb but the view is stunning. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. The meals were very similar every... More

Although it is an all inclusive hotel, the quality of food was very satisfied and the dinner you spend in the taverna Pergola is a unique experience. Life music, dance, gourmet dishes and friendly professional service make you feel unique. The rooms decoration is like staying in a traditional Cretan house. The animation team is very capable to make you... More

Loved the apartments although probably need a car to get about. Best beach in area about 2 km away. Too many barking dogs. Only ate in hotel twice at buffet on offer, food of poor standard and not much choice.

We rented an apartment at the Cretan Village in Ammoudara in October 2011 and we were very pleased. We used it as a kind of "base camp" for visiting the eastern part of Creta. It was the end of the season, therefore there were very few other customers. Maria was very helpful and told us for instance where to find... More

We stayed here for 1 week all inclusive in the middle of May. It is Greece and the room was very basic. not very modern but very clean and that's the main thing. We paid £300 each for a week all inclusive each so we didn't expect the Hilton ! The food was good, Breakfast: Eggs, bread, cereal, fruit and... More

You get what you pay for, I agree its not a 4 star hotel, but my husband and I paid approx £105 each for this hotel (after taking off the cost of the flight), for that we got 7 nights accommodation in our own appartment, 7 days of breakfast, lunch and dinner (home cooked Greek Food), and all local drinks... Booked through Thomas Cook. I holiday regularly in Crete at 4/5 star hotels but on arrival, at about 2.30pm, this hotel looked shabby and run down, definately not the 4 star standard I had experienced in past stays on the Island. The receptionist met us with cigaret in her mouth. A second receptionist ambled over from a settee in the... More

Just come back from the Cretan Village Hotel and felt that I needed to warn others about this hotel. This is not an all inclusive holiday, as stated, and I have never known such awful people running a business in the leisure industry. Only one member of staff was nice, the others were the most miserable, unhelpful people I have... More

I cannot say enough bad things about this place it definitley was a holiday from hell .The landlady (aka hatchet woman) was one of the rudest and vile people i have ever met in my life and so were all the other staff with the exception of katerina . We had 74 steps to walk up to our room and... More
