I would like to share my experience of one night stay in this hotel. We arrived at the lunch time and asked for free room for two persons and a baby. Friendly girl at reception desk, didnt waste time and didnt search exuses, checked the availability and call the boss. After few minutes we got our room. The room was... More

I have been to marirena twice and feels like home. Great and friendly people, the hotel really close to the beach, cosy and beautiful rooms.. Always a pleasure to come back... Highly recommended, mostly for the friendly atmosphere..

The hotel is conveniently located, if it is convenient to rent a car to visit the West and east of the island, excellent cuisine, beautiful rooms. It's very pleasant. Also near the city of Heraklion and it's museums, shopping and restaurants.

Was there in august 2013. Very afforable price for those who rent a car and drives around, using hotel as sleeping and breakfest place. Got really nice contact with stuff - main waiter even invited us to a greek night in another place. Food was tasty, room was clean, air conditionair was working.

I stayed half board at this hotel for one week. It is typically Greek in that the rooms are basic and slightly dated in style. My room was extremely small and basic and had only one pillow between two beds! It was however, clean and reasonably well maintained. This was reflected in other areas of the hotel such as the... Excellent locatian! The hotel is souranded by shops and relly good restaurants, including the one at the hotel - Dyonisoss. Just 3 min away from a nice beach, not crowded and with cheap sunbeds - 2,5 euro and one drink was included - that was really cool. The food (I mean dinners) served by the hotel, were really good too.... More

It really does make a difference to stay in a smaller hotel where the owner and his extended family spend their time. You'll find George, the owner sitting under a tree or at the front desk always willing to problem solve. Everyone working at the hotel came to know us and greeted us with genuine affection. I particularly loved Pela--the... More

First off, the "Marilena" is a different hotel. This review is for the "Marirena." I am an American and travel frequently for business. The Marirena was a clean, quiet, very welcoming and convenient hotel. The owner, George, was extremely helpful and communicated with a taxi service to figure out where in the suburbs my meeting was the next day. All... More

Me and my girlfriend spent 2 weeks in hotel Marirena. The hotel is placed in Amoudara, very close to a long beach and only half an hour away from the city center. Everything at the hotel was great. The staff was very friendly, the rooms were cleaned every day, and the food was delicious. The area around the pool was... More

We're going back next year. The view was spectacular. Stavros Mountain. George, the owner, and his staff were pleasant and good hearted. The rooms and the rest of the hotel were spotlessly clean. And less than 100m to the beach. Highley recommended.
